It had been a good half hour since I'd finished cleaning Josh's wounds, and we sat on the bed – Josh's head laying on my lap for a change – while he stared up at the ceiling. No words have been exchanged and it was getting pretty uncomfortable.

"J" I call out to Josh.

"Yeah?" He answers, still staring at the ceiling.

"What's wrong? " I stare at him, this time running a hand through his faded electric yellow locks.

He shakes his head.

I roll my eyes. "Come on, what's going on, Josh?"

He sighs, finally taking a minute to look at me and analyze his words. "Brad... he's into boxing, he's strong. He might be a dick but he's got utter determination. And I-, I'm just a drummer. I can't give you those things."

I shake my head, holding back my smile for Josh's shake, as I could only find this cute and not in the slightest bit sad.

"J." I pause and cup his face, his body lifting up a bit before I kissed him. I feel a light smile on his lips which makes me do the same, but I pull away.

"I don't care if you're not like Brad. Actually, that's a good thing. Brad was abusive and he always wanted things his way." I run a finger on his jaw. "You can't be jealous of him..."

I believe this is the first time I've seen Josh blush, which gave me a clue.

I actually laughed this time. "Josh, you're only seeing the two good things about him!"

He anxiously plays with his fingers. "Yeah, but the guy knows you so much better, and- and you could do so much better." He shrugs.

My eyes widen. "You're the best person I've ever met" I assure him. "Well, after Luna of course."

I finally see him let out a smile. "You really could do so much better."

I chuckle. "That's why I'm doing you."

Josh laughed and sat down appropriately on the bed – wincing the slightest bit – and giving me a long, slightly more meaningful kiss.

"Kay" he pauses, looking nervous. I stare at him, a hint of worry in his eyes. "I really do want to get to know you, and treat you like they do in all the fairytales, but I think we need to go out on a date before that."

I smile. "Are you asking me out?"

He smiles as well. "Only if you want to be asked out."

I giggle. "When?" I'm pretty sure my eyes were sparkling with lust.

"Tomorrow, when I can actually walk." He scratches the back of his neck.

I stare at him. "I'm still mad at you for that, I could have just kicked him out if you'd told me you felt uncomfortable."

He shrugged. "I wouldn't have had a chance to show off."

I hold in my laughter, trying to be stern. "So you just wanted the serendipity of the events?"

He looks confused. "What the heck does that word mean?"

I groan. "I really do need to simplify my vocabulary." I run a hand through my hair, and before I could catch Josh staring, I look at him and continue.

"Basically, you enjoyed the fact that I took care of you." I smirked.

He shrugged again. "Eh, love-hate. It made me look weak but I also really like it when you touch me."

I raised an eyebrow, which made Josh's eyes widen in realization.

"No! I didn't mean it like that. Well, I do like it when you- I-, I just meant that-"

He had a loss for words when I pulled his zipper down.

I just had to take care of Josh.
