Chapter One ~ Annabeth And A Child Of Ares

**Percy's POV**

I woke up and opened my eyes, only to close them because of the blinding sunlight that was filtering through my open windows. I heard waves crashing up against the shore from the lake and weapons clashing from some campers training. I turned on my side and looked at the picture of me and Annabeth sitting on my bedside table. We've been drifting apart lately, I wanna do something, but I'm afraid that it will make our relationship worse. I sighed, got up and got changed into khaki shorts and the orange Camp t-shirt, I tried to brush my hair and succeeded in making it a little better. I headed to the dinning pavilion and looked around trying to find the blonde princess curls that belong to my girlfriend. Not spotting her, I sit down and quickly grab some food (not before scraping some into the fire pit and praying to my dad). When I finished I left the now busy and bustling pavilion to find Annabeth.

I looked all over Camp for her. At the Athena cabin, the big house, the forest, and finally the lake. When I got there I saw something that broke my heart. Annabeth kissing a son of Ares - Riley I believe was his name - at first they didn't seem to notice me, but when they pulled apart Annabeth looked over and a look of shock formed on her face.

"Oh Percy! You weren't supposed to find out like this! I was going to break up with you soon! I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed, she looked close to tears.

"I would have been fine with breaking up if you weren't cheating on me!" I bellowed, it was true, she could have just told the truth.

"I know! And I so sorry! I should have, but I didn't! I can't believe I did that!" She cried, she looked sad, but if I looked in her eyes, I could tell it was a lie.

"You're lying." I stated.

"W-what! No! Never!"

"Yes, you are."

"No! I would never lie to-" I cut her off.

"You know what! Shut up! Just shut up. We are done!" I yelled, "have fun with your new boyfriend." I added.

The Ares kid smiled and laughed, "See Annie, what did I tell you? Weak and uncontrollable."

I stiffened and slowly turned to face him.

"What did you say?" I asked in a low and menacing voice.

"I said you're weak and uncontrollable." He sneered.

I snapped. I thrust out my hand and squeezed, I felt his blood boiling and slowing done. The water turned darker and the waves got more violent. Storm clouds moved in quickly and started to form above us. The earth rumbled and shook. The Ares kid coughed and spat out blood as Annabeth cried and tried desperately to help him somehow. I unclenched my fist and dropped my hand before turning around and leaving, not saying another word. I heard Annabeth worrying about her new boyfriend. And slowly I could hear the lake settling and the clouds dispersed. The earthquakes slowly stopped and the ground was still again.

I walked to my cabin and to my surprise my father, Poseidon, was there. "Um, what's up dad?" I asked slightly confused, though I already had a hunch on why he was here.

"You abused your powers and used them for evil." He stated, frowning at me. His eyes were a darker shade of green than usual.

"So what, you kill mortals all the time."

"That's different, I'm a God," he paused and looked outside, "and as much as it pains me to say this-" he looked at me again, "-I'm afraid to say that Zeus and I have come to the agreement that I must disown you to keep us Olympians in power."

I stared at him in shock.

"You can't be serious! My fatal flaw is personal loyalty!" I screamed.

"Perseus Jackson! You will not speak to me in that manner!" He yelled.

"No, I can and I will! You are no longer my father so I can speak to you however I want." I said, I know he hasn't disowned me yet, but I couldn't care less.

"Give me Riptide right now!" He holds out his hand.

"Fine!" I shove Riptide (in its pen form) roughly onto the the palm of his hand, he mutters something and Riptide glows for a second before disappearing.

"Now, I Poseidon, God of the sea, hereby disown Perseus Jackson." Poseidon said, I glowed and it felt like half my soul was being sucked out of my body. When it was finished, I was outside by Thalia's tree. A bag of my stuff beside me and Poseidon nowhere to be found.

I huffed and set off towards my parents apartment. Every now and then I would try and catch a ride with someone, only successfully grabbing a ride once. When I finally reached the apartment building, I quickly walked in and headed for my parents apartment.

Well, this was a lot better then the original version. I actually edited it. I'll try and make the chapters longer in the future, but for now, this is what I got.
