Chapter seventeen ~ Closing time

Sigma's POV

I woke up very confused. The light blinding me, I blinked and rubbed my eyes. I slowly reopened my eyes and looked around, I was in the infirmary in Parádeisos. What happened? I wondered. I vaguely remember having control at the very end after I defeated Lucifer to heal Zac, but after that I passed out and I don't know what happened. Is Zac okay? Is the Army okay? What happened.

"Sigma!" Luke shouted. I groaned in pain.

"Don't yell." I muttered, my voice was raspy from not using it.

"He needs water and food idiot," Zoë turned to me, "you passed out after healing Zac, who is fine but in a coma, it's been three days. We left immediately after you passed out." She informed me. I nodded and gratefully accepted the food and water she handed me. I quickly gulped them both down.

"Where's Zac?" I asked.

"Right there." Ethan, who just came in, pointed to a corner bed with the curtains closed around it.

"Oh. Anything I need to know?"

"Well, Selina and Charles decided to retire from the Army. Selina is going to work with the animal caretakers and Charles is working with the forge workers." Luke informed me. I hummed, I knew about that for a while actually, they said they were going to retire after this mission.

~Time Skip (one week)~

"Sigma! Zac's awake!" Luke shouted from outside my room.

I rushed out and raced Luke to the infirmary.

When we got there, Zoë and Bianca were already there. Nico and Will suddenly appeared behind us, followed by Ethan, Selina, and Charles.

"Zac! You're okay!" I sighed, walking up to his bed.

"Yeah." He smiled, his voice was dry and raspy. "It was mostly thanks to you."

"What happened anyway." Bianca asked.

"Well I was taken captive sometime before the final battle, I was in a magically induced coma until pretty recently. When they brought back Lucifer's soul, they put it in my body. Then I was basically trapped in my own mind, watching as he did these horrible things with people, sometimes using my powers. They I somehow was able to reach out to Sigma during his sleep and the rest is kinda blurry." Zac explained.

"I only figured out Lucifer was possessing Zac during the fight between Lucifer and I, before the necklace." I said. "Where's Infernum?" I asked, suddenly realizing the wolf wasn't with us.

"Right here dingus." Infernum said, transforming from a bee to his normal form. "They wouldn't let me in so I improvised." He explained after seeing our confused expressions.

"Oh, Zac, I want you to have your position as third in command back." Zoë announced abruptly.

"No, no! You deserve it more! Especially now, I just got back and I don't really trust my powers right now." Zac shook his head.

"I insist."

"I couldn't! I can't. I really think it's better if you hold the position.

"Sigma needs someone he trusts in this position, and he may trust me, but he trusts you and Luke a lot more."

"I-" Zoë cut him off with a glare. "Um, you know what. Never mind, I'll take my position back." He accepted reluctantly.

~Two Days Later~

"Dad wants to see you guys." Tartarus informed me, stepping into the game room.

"Tell him we'll be right there."

Tartarus nodded and left.

"Well, let's go guys." I said, turning to my friends, they just nodded.
