After school finally came. And we all meet in the library as I told them. I looked at the clock 4:02. We were all sitting scattered around the library.
"Alright we're here.. now what." Jessica said with a little annoyance in her voice. I turned to face her. She was sitting on one of the tables with her arms crossed against her chest. She really did annoy me, just by being in the same room as her, made felt like I was getting dumber by the second.
"We'll have to see if she comes or not." I said plainly. Which I guess annoys her because she jumps on the table walking towards me.
"So you brought us here to a smelly library to see some dead bitch? What if she doesn't come then what huh?" She was in my face.
"Get out of my face Jessica." I say unamused. She was getting on my nerves but she was easy to ignore.
"Oh am I getting you mad? Make me move." She boldly stood there. We stared at each other waiting to see what the other one would do.
"Would you guys cut it out already? geez." I hear Matthew grunt besides me. He was sitting at one of the computers.
"Idiots." She was here, when I turned around she had walked though the library doors. Everyone scrambled together. Jordan, Madison and Isaac quickly got on their feet and ran over to us. Surprisingly the boys grabbed the girls pushing us behind them. But I knew they were scared.
"Look at that. All of you have become friends." Sam spat out, rolling her eyes. She looked the same as from earlier.
"What the fuck do you want?" Jessica ran from behind Matthew. Can't she just shut up for once. Sam titled her head. The smile that appeared on her face was frightening.
"I want you all to suffer... that's all. I want you to feel sorry- actually I want you to feel the pain." She looked at Isaac.
"Tell them how it felt." They all turned and looked at Isaac, he looked like he was gonna freak out again. What did she show him or tell him?
"You all will feel pain. Until you wish you were dead. I'll make sure if it.. all seven of you will." She flipped her hair the turned to walk out of he library. Matthew burst from the group and grabbed her turning her around. He was pissed. He didn't want to be part of this, but he was.
"Leave us alone! We're not playing this game." Matthew yelled while holding her shoulders. She tilted her head and grabbed his left hand. He was confused for a second, her face was blank. Suddenly he started screaming his lungs out. She pushed him back into the floor.
"It's just a joke." Then she disappeared. Jessica ran over to him, hugging him tightly.
"What just happened?" Jordan says while he kneels down. I kneeled down too and reach for Matthew's hand. I know Jessica is staring at me, but I could honestly care less. I carefully turn it over. It's burned. Like a bunch of hot oil just fell all over it.
"You need to go to the hospital, it can get infected." I say resting his hand down slowly. I look up at him, he whimpering like a puppy. I wasn't a fan of his, but he looked pretty hurt and I felt bad for a split second. Everyone was still shook about what just happened. I stood up, I knew she was mad. Who wouldn't be? You get picked on and no one ever helps you, not even your best friend. I sighed and looked at the time 4:33. We should probably get home.
"Now that we know she after us, what now? She's gonna ruin our lives." Madison says while shoving her hands into her sweat pants.
"We should get you to a hospital and the rest of us should go home." Isaac says while helping Matthew up. We nod in agreement and leave the library, walking towards the parking lot.
We were all quiet. We didn't have anything to say. I was stuck in my thoughts, I guess I was falling behind because I felt someone's hand on my lower back. I looked up to see Jordan.
"You okay?" He asked. Was I okay? Physically? Yeah I was. But mentally? Who knows.
"Uh yeah I'm fine." I said while walking a little faster. I didn't need to be baby, I just wanted to go home. Matthew and Jessica got in her car, so they could make their way to the hospital. Madison hopped on her bike and started peddling off. Jordan, Isaac and I lived one block from each other so walked together.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I was alone now. Jordan kept suggesting to drop me home, but I was fine. I just wanted to be alone. As I was walking, i as probably a block away from home, my phone rang. When I pulled it out the contact name was.. "Sammy". I blinked, maybe I was seeing things. But I knew I wasn't. I slide the answer button and put the phone up to me ear.
"Hey April, are you even listening?"
I froze. I knew I heard those words before. I hung up the phone and ran home. I busted through the front door, which caught the attention of my dad in the kitchen.
"You alright sweetheart?" He said as he met me at the front door with a bowl of popcorn. He was probably watching a movie.
"Uh yeah I'm fine." I say avoiding eye contact. He continues to stare at me. Crap.
"Dad I'm fine really. Just had a long day you know." I lazily shrug my shoulders. He nods in understanding. Thank God.
"Well there's snacks on the table. But if you want food, there's some left over in the fridge." He says while walking into the living room. I take a deep breathe and go into the kitchen. When I walk in, she's there sitting at the island (counter) in the middle of the kitchen.
"Can you get me something to eat, bestie?" She says the word, "bestie" with a distasteful look in her face. Get out. I wanna scream at her but I can't. Ignore her request and head to the fridge. As I open it, I pull out a water bottle. I open it and start drinking it. My throat is kinda dry and I'm still outta breathe from running down a really long block. When I close the fridge door. On the other side of the fridge, is a mouth less Sam standing. She's crying but not tears. Blood is pouring from her eyes onto the floor. This sight scares the shit out of me and I choke on the water I just swallowed. After a few coughs my dad hustles in.
"April are you alright." He starts patting my back.
"Yeah.. I guess I was drinking to fast." I say after clearing my throats a few times. I closed the water bottle and tell my dad I'm gonna to take a nap and headed to my room. My head was spinning. I opened my bed room door to see her. She looks normal now. She's sitting on my bed, flipping through channels. She looks at me then flashes me a smile. Why is she here. I head to the bathroom. Closing the door behind me. I started getting undressed, maybe a shower will relax me. But how do I relax knowing a dead girl is in my house haunting me? I turn on the shower, the room quickly fills with fog. I pull a shower cap on, I don't mind my hair getting wet, but I didn't feel like drying it after it was went. After a few scrubs I turn to adjust the water, it was getting a little too hot. I turned and she was there. Naked. She was taking a shower with me.
"Can you get my back?" She said turning around. I just stared at her. Why. Was this her way of playing with my mind? One minute she scares me just by her appearance than she acts like we're best friends still. If this was the way she was gonna drive me crazy it, was slowly working. I slowly picked up the bar of soap and began rubbing her back. She didn't feel dead. I could feel her, her body.
After the shower I got out and went to my closet to get dressed. I was dressed and felt instantly tired. I crawled into bed, turning off the lights in my room. I couldn't sleep at first because I felt her staring at me. I constantly turned back and fourth trying to fall asleep. I turned to my right side, being a little surprised by her appearance. She was in my bed, it wasn't until I saw her face.. she looked terrifying. She look like she was beaten. She was bleeding from her lip and her eye was all swollen. I shut my eyes and didn't open them. A few minutes later I finally fell asleep. Please just stop.
