I woken up by the sunlight shining into my room. It was December but the sun, was hot melting all the snow away from yesterday. I realized I was really comfy, I looked down and saw Jordan's sweater on me. He's so stupid, he didn't have a sweater on when he went home, only a jacket, hopefully he didn't catch a cold. I was thinking I sat up slowly and stretched. When I finished that I opened my eyes to see no one other than her. She looked pissed. But I was feeling kind of scared, but remember Jordan's words. Ignore her. I I flipped my feet on the cold wooden fall and went into the bathroom to freshen up. I put on my navy blue skirt, then I slipped on my white knee high socks than my black Uggs on. I pushed both of my arms through my shirt then buttoned it up and fixed my tie on. Then I pulled Jordan's black sweater back on. I glanced at myself in my full body sized behind my bed room door. Cute and cozy. I turned and grabbed my bag from my desk. When I turned around she was extremely close to me. She grabbed my face and pulled it towards hers. Our foreheads touched and I felt that burning feeling in my chest once again. I shut my eyes, the pain was unbearable. When I opened them I was at the school parking lot. We were all there, all six of us.. what no Madison wasn't here. I noticed Jordan's watch it said 8:21. When I turned to see where she could be, she called out to us.
"Hey guys." She said while riding on her bike. We were all waiting for her to reach us, when suddenly a car was backing out of a space.
"Madison! Look out!" I yelled and leaned forward, the car backed up and hit Madison.. hard. Everyone ran towards her, I froze. My head was spinning. What just happened. I pushed myself towards, I was now running towards the crowd of people surrounding Madison. The winter air was hitting my face, but I didn't stop until I reached her. I bent and looked at her. She was unconscious and bleeding from her head. I watched her chest to see if it would raise.. I watched and watched, but it never did. Madison was dead. Suddenly my hearing was acting up. I couldn't hear anything, only see the chaos going on around me. Jessica was crying, I didn't know Madison and her were close, but I mean we all became close ever since she showed up. Matthew was trying to hold her, but she pushed him away. The pain was coming back i shut my eyes and didn't open them until the pain stopped.
When I opened my eyes she released my face.
"Try to ignore me now." She look pleased as she said that. My heart was pounding. Terrible. That's was a perfect word to describe her right now. She was terrible. I pushed past her. As I was walking out of my room she said something that made me rush out the house even faster.
"You should hurry up, there won't be enough time for you to see it, if you don't hurry." What.. that means this was happening. I had to get to school. Right now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I ran all the way to school. When I got there I saw everyone expect Madison. I had to tell them. I ran over. When they spotted me, they looked worried.
"Hey beautiful, you alright-" I quickly cover Isaac's mouth, not now.
"Madison is gonna die!" I whisper yell. They're eyes widen.
"What do you mean? How do you know?" Matthew says looking freaked out.
"I saw it, she showed me it.. this morning-" I realized I had to keep watch, she couldn't die. I grabbed Jordan's watch.. my heart felt like it had sunken. The time was 8:21
"No.. its too late." They all stare at me. We all look in the direction of the entrance to the parking lot, when we see Madison riding in, smiling. She sees us and waves
"Hey guys!" She riding faster towards us.
"Madison! Stop." As I say that she slows down her peddling but not in enough time, she's been hit. Her body is thrown into the ground. We all stand there completely frozen. That's when other students run over. Isaac runs over then Matthew following Jessica then Jordan. I stand there, my legs felt stuck to the ground. Some thing in me pushes me forward, I'm running against the cold air now. When I get there, I kneel down at her. She's bleeding from her head and her pants are kind of ripped , exposing a deep cut on her left leg. I was about to turn away before someone in the crowd said "She's moving, did someone call 911?" I turn back around and see Madison. She's breathing and she's trying to keep her eyes opened. A few staff members and teachers are now running towards us. One of the teachers are trying to keep her up. While the others are telling students to back up. Suddenly, Principal James comes out and for a quick second, we exchange looks.
"You all will feel pain. Until you wish you were dead. I'll make sure if it.. all seven of you will." That's what all we heard before. We knew it was her. We all looked at each other trying to figure it out. Seven? As we looked at each other, Principal James stood up on the phone calling the ambulance, when he turned and faced us. We understood. He had the number seven written in blood on his forehead. Obviously no one could see it but us, but it was clear as day. It made sense now, that day I was in his office and I seen that flashback. She did that for a reason. The lucky seven.
The rest of the day went by really slow. Madison as taken to the hospital. She was hurt pretty badly.
"I thought you said she died?" Jessica asks me in fourth period. We all look up from our worksheets.
"Let's just be thankful, she didn't." Jordan says looking back down. But that doesn't seem to satisfy Jessica.
"So you always been able to tell when we were "suppose" to die." She does air quotations, which just annoyed me.
"Of course not, and what she showed me this morning.. I thought it was true, I didn't want to take a chance." I said slightly adding a hint of irritation in there. Silence falls between all of us. Back to square with them. I rolled my eyes and leaned back into my work.
But I can't focus. My head is spinning. Everything was happening to quickly. Jordan must've noticed how out of it I was and grabbed my hand rubbed it softly. But a hand rub wasn't going to fix this.
