Chapter 10: New beginnging

They all stared at me. I just told them what I've been through for the last couple of days. Suddenly arms were wrapped around me. Jordan of course. Again I stood there, letting him hug me. He even tucked my fallen hair behind my right ear. That's when Isaac joined the hug, then Madison and even Matthew. Jessica stood at the top of the steps. She looked scared at what I just told her. Imagine how I felt. She slowly walked down the stairs and joined too.
The bell rang ending our little group hug. We all separated. As everyone was walking up the stairs I stood there, could I tell them stuff?
"Hey, its lunch.. it's snowing today was I guess we're stuck inside." Jordan said handing me my book bag. I took it and tossed it on my back.
"Okay I'll sit with you today then." Even though he sits with his basketball team, I knew he would make sure I was comfortable. But I still said it nervously. What's going on? Jordan looked at me then gave me a warm smile. Suddenly he grabbed my hand and we ran out of the stairs case into the busy hallways. Just like when we're were little. Running hand and hand.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We walked into the cafeteria and there were eyes set on me and Jordan. I guess because of that show I performed this morning. Wait- no it's wasn't that. Some girls liked disappointed, while some guys looked jealous. That's when it hit me. Jordan was still holding my hand. I quickly let go. I nervously tucked my hair behind my ear. Dang it, where is my scrunchie. I didn't need anymore rumors. Jordan gave me a little smirk. He enjoyed the little eyes on him, didn't he. We walked towards his table, I thought I would just get stares but instead I got flirty smiles and waves, then I was picked up from behind and placed on some boy's shoulder. It was Isaac, with a bright smile on his face. And that's when he started it off.
"APE! APE! APE!" Suddenly the cafeteria roared. I realized I had a skirt on and quickly nudged Isaac. And he put me down gently. The school was filled of spirit. Next week the boy's and girl's basketball season started and I know I was ready. We sat down at the table and for the first time in a long time. I didn't mind hearing pointless gossip or boys fake arguing with each other. I even got into it with a boy, who said he'll beat me in a one on one game. Even between conversations with the boys, my girls team invited me over to their table and we talked about how we wanted are season to be.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was after school now and I was ready to get home, I had a bunch of homework to do and I was super tired from the long day I had. Jordan, Isaac and I were walking home.
"Later guys." Isaac waved as he crossed from the street. So it was me and Jordan.
"Hm I'm kinda hungry, I think I'll be staying for dinner." Jordan said while winking at me. I gave him a playful smile.
"Uh so you're inviting yourself to eat at my house? I don't think it works like that." We laughed in unison. We were at my house now and I was about to pull my key out until my phone rang. I pulled it out of my bag and regretted automatically. "Sammy".. my breathing started to speed up and my heart felt like it was gonna pop out of my chest. But I calm down when Jordan's hands slid the phone out of my hands and declined the call.
"It's you and me okay?" He said bending down a little. He sure did get taller. "No matter what, I won't leave you." he sent me a small smile. I unlocked the door and smelled some pretty good food.
"Sweetheart, you're home.. oh and you brought Jordan, how you doing my boy?" My dad while kissing my forehead and shaking Jordan's hand and hugging him.
"Dinners ready so wash your hands and get a plate." We quickly washed ours hands in the kitchen sink and grabbed a plate and served ourselves. My dad made his famous lasagna. It was super good. We joked and talked about basketball. By the time we finished it was 6:30. Jordan had homework too but needed some help so we headed to my room. We were both in tears from laughing thinking about a joke my dad just said while eating dinner. But it soon stopped when we walked into my room. There she was on my bed staring at the tv. It was off. I was startled and stumbled back into Jordan.
"Stay calm alright. I'm here. Act like she's not even here." He whispered into my ear. His lips brushing against my ear and it made me feel relaxed. Weird. Jordan got started his homework while I quickly changed. I had black leggings on with polkadot socks on and a white t-shirt. We were working on chemistry. The whole time she watched her us in disgust. I ended up putting the tv, it was way to quiet. That's when Adventure Time came on. I don't care how old I am, cartoons will always have my heart. It kinda distracted me, but a few nudges from Jordan made me finish my homework. We sat on my bed watching the Marathon of Adventure Time. I guess I was falling asleep cause the next thing I know I felt Jordan leave the bed for a second but he was back he sat me up and slid his over the head sweater on me. It was warm and smelled great, like him. He tucked me into bed.

Jordan's POV
The whole time i was over by April's I was making sure she was alright. She was smiling and laughing today, I want her to sleep with that same happy feeling. Even though she was there, I made sure April was okay. I promised her. We finished our homework and decided to watch some cartoons. She began falling asleep, so I did something I knew that always made her smile when we were little. I took out my black over the head sweater and slid it on her. When we were small she loved wearing my sweaters. When it was on properly on, I tucked her into bed. The whole time I was being stared at but I ignored her. I was used to ignoring her.. because April wasn't the only one who seen her at home.
"Goodnight April." I whispered, I looked at my wrist watch, it said 7:46 I should get home. I picked up my bag and looked at her one last time.
