It was Monday morning. December 11. The weekend flew by after the group and I had our little confessions session on Saturday at the hospital. Madison was told she had to stay there for a week, until she was released, but she said she didn't mind staying in the hospital. She could stay out of the cold. But unlike her, I had to go to school. My basketball season started tomorrow, while today was the boys first game. Which meant Isaac and Jordan would be so happy and energetic. Oh brother. I put on my uniform and glanced in the mirror. My eyes are kinda dark, I been sleeping but not for a decent amount of time. She gave me nightmares. I don't even know how I'm still standing, I feel exhausted. Every since the talk in the hospital, she hasn't really bothered us.. interesting. But trust me I wasn't complaining. Today and tomorrow are big days for Isaac, Jordan, and I, even Jessica since she's a cheerleader. But not Matthew, he wasn't on the basketball team. So he'd just come to the games because of his friends that were on the team. My hair was straight and stopped right at my shoulders, I pulled it back, taking a rubber band and put in a tight ponytail. When it looked and felt right I picked up my bag. When I was about to head out she was in front me. At this point I wasn't even surprised, she always did that.
"Today is going to be interesting, will it not." It wasn't a question she was telling me. Today was gonna interesting. I pushed past her. Not today.. today was too important. The first game of the season usually told us how the season was going to be.
"See you at school." She sang. Something is definitely up.

I walked into the school parking lot to see their faces. Isaac and Jordan were talking, while Matthew was holding Jessica. She looked out of it. When I got closer, I got their attention.
"Hey beautiful." Isaac winked, pushing his hair back. I rolled my eyes jokingly. Dumbass. I said it gently in my head. My thoughts about him were changing.
"Hey April." I turned to face Jordan, he had a bright smile on his face. Even in this cold weather, his smile was filled of warmth. I slightly smile back. I guess I was staring because he snapped which made me refocus my attention.
"Oh sorry, hey." I turned to Matthew and Jessica. Now that I was closer, I realized Jessica's face was red and her nice blue eyes were kinda swollen, like she's been crying.
"What happened?" I had a feeling I knew already though. She did this. Matthew looked at me pissed.
"Let's go inside and talk." That's all Matthew said, then we all turned and headed inside. We went into a classroom that wasn't used often. We had some time before first period started. Jessica sat at a desk shaking. She looked scared out of her ass. I kneeled down meet her eyes.
"What happened?" I softly said. Me and her weren't the greatest friends but she looked like she needed a friend right now. Her blue eyes met my brown eyes, she took and a shaky breathe. Here we go.

Jessica's POV
"What happened?" April asked me. I looked at her. My eyes were heavy. I felt tired but I didn't wanna close them, I was scared. I took a breathe. Here we go.
"Yesterday me and some cheerleaders went out earlier.." I slowly said, I was trying to calm my heart down, it was pounding like crazy. "When I got home, I thought my parents and little brother would be there. Bur I didn't hear them. When I was walking past the living room I saw my little brother on the couch sleeping." I started sweating, my hands felt clammy. "I tapped him, but he didn't move. So I decided to walk around the couch and pick him up. When I did that-" I was crying now. The tears were pouring out of my eyes. April looked at me, she reached for my hand and put it in hers.
"Take your time Jess." This was probably the nicest we ever been to each other. And this was the first time she called me Jess. I cleared my throat and continued.
"When I picked him up, his face was bloody. He had cuts and bruises all over him, he looked dead." My chest was hurting, I started feeling sick. "I screamed and dropped him back on the couch. I ran to the kitchen to grab the house phone, but as I entered the kitchen my parents there. I yelled at them 'something is wrong with Max!' But they didn't even turn around. I stepped up to them and pulled their shoulders so they were facing me. When they turned around I screamed in horror. They looked like Max, beaten up and bleeding. That's when Max entered the kitchen, they all started walking towards me. I screamed at them the stop, but they just kept coming. I tripped over my foot. They began punching me and kicking me. I shut my eyes, I begged them to stop. I felt every kick and punch I received. They stopped and back away from me. I turned myself on my back looking up at the ceiling, that's when she showed up. She kneeled down to me.
'Now be a good dog and stay.' She got up and turned on her heel and my eyes felt heavy. I guess I passed out. When I woke up I was in my room. My mom was sitting on my bed, placing a wet wash cloth on my forehead. She smiled and said she found me on the floor, she wanted to take me to the hospital, but I told her I was fine. Also on my bed was her, she was smiling at me. She put a finger to her lips and said 'shhh' then disappeared." I squeezed April's had a little harder. I bit down on my lip and cried. I felt arms come around me, they were too muscular to be April's. It was Matthew, I hugged back and let it all out.

Jessica wrapped her arms around Matthew and cried. Isaac, Jordan and I stood there speechless. She messed with her family. Jessica's family attacked her, well not really but she was messing with her head. That's when I remember what she told me this morning. 'Today is going to be interesting' yeah it was, I could tell. I looked over at Isaac and Jordan, they seemed freaked out. Their smiles that were on their faces have faded. The bell rang and we all headed to our classes.
