Going with the Plan

~Carlos POV~

"Come on, we have to meet Mal all because of this stupid plan." I groan to Jay as I put on my shoes and he looked at me weirdly.

"What's been up with you lately?" He asked and I looked at him confused before I continued to tie my shoe.

"What are you talking about?" I ask, sounding more rude than intended. Yikes, I hope he doesn't beat me to a pulp, that would suck. But nope, he didn't he just sighed and continued.

"It's just, lately you've been seeming like you hate the thought of getting the wand and getting to see our parents again. I mean I get that you have your little crush on Ben but, this seems like more than that." He said to me and I sighed and looked down at the ground. I guess he was right, I did think that getting the wand was a stupid plan, and that dream I had the other day when we were all in the kitchen.

"Ohp! Would you look at the time! Mal and Evie should be waiting for us by now." I say quickly changing the subject. I don't need to talk about this right now.

"Fine, let's go," He says with a sigh, probably realizing he wasn't going to get anything out of me at the very moment.

~~In the Library~~

"This is just so weird, the whole school is gonna think I'm gay," I said to the other 3, sounding uncomfortable. Obviously, I have to play the part of the uncomfortable straight guy, I can't just go around acting excited about being with Ben.

"Don't think about that!" Mal said, trying to give me a confidence boost about this. "Think of it as more as, taking one for the team. It'll go back quick I swear."

"Ugh, whatever. What do I need to do?" I question her, acting more annoyed now. Jay looked at me and he just chuckled, I could tell he was impressed by how good at acting I was.

  "You just need to play along with whatever he does. Make it seem like the relationship is actually real." She said to me and I nodded and rolled my eyes. Man, this pretending to be nervous thing really sucks.

"Hey, guys." Someone said slowly as they walked up to the table. I looked up and seen it was Ben and he was kept stealing glances at me and I blushed.

"Carlos, can I talk to you for a second?" He asks and my heart flutters from how nervous he seems. I looked over at Mal and she nods her head, I guess signaling me to go along with it and I sigh.

"Wait!" I say quickly before looking at Mal then back to Ben. "I need to ask you something and I think that I am confident enough to ask you in front of my friends," I said as I stood up and took a couple steps forward so I was standing right in front of him.

"Okay? What is it?" He asks, nervousness still in his voice but it was being overpowered by curiosity.

"Ben Beast," I look back at Jay and he gives me a reassuring thumbs up and I slightly smile. "Will you go out with me?" I ask and his face immediately lightens up.

"Yes! Oh my goodness yes! of course, yes!" He says excitedly and he quickly pulls me into a strong embrace. I was just a little smaller than him but I still fit perfectly against his body and this made me smile. From the corner of my eye, I see Mal and Evie giving each other a discreet high five.

"Okay, okay uhm I'll go get things set up for it!" He said quickly and excitedly after pulling away from our hug and I gave him a confused look.

"Wait! Ben!" I said pulling him out from his thought and he looks at me confused. "I asked you out, shouldn't I be planning things?" I asked with a smile and he shook his head slightly.

"Let me plan it, I'll make it special, just for you I promise!" He said cheerfully. I looked up into his eyes and I could see the excitement dancing in them. I smiled and only nodded my head. "Yes! Okay, everything will be perfect! Yes!" He said excitedly and he kissed me on the cheek and quickly ran off.
