"The fuck you mean you had some weird ass holy connection with an angel?"
I rubbed my temples at that question, trying to make my throbbing headache go away.
A day had passed since my spiritual connection with that boy, or whatever he was. Jaden had insisted I go to bed and rest after the incident, saying I needed to regain my energy before I could tell them anything. We met the next morning as usual, hours before our final classes for the week. It was weird, thinking it had only been two weeks and so much had happened already.
"I'm not sure if it was an angel at all, just a boy. He wore nothing but white, so, I'm just assuming." I responded to Cain, who eyed me warily. He sat in front of my seat at the coffe table, his leg folded over the other and his palms resting back on the table. He was dressed as stylishly as ever, wearing a white shirt under a brown sweater, tight black jeans, a black coat and brown boots. I wondered briefly how many different outfits Cain had, and they all seemed to be designer clothes too.
"How did he look like?" Mike asked in awe, clearly amazed by the whole thing. He wore a simple navy sweatshirt and his usual pair of snug jeans and white sneakers as he sat next to Cain on the coffee table. He looked exhausted like he hadn't slept in days, blue eyes rimmed in red. I frowned at his question.
"Uhm... he looked young, eighteen or so, this tall. Short chestnut hair, blue eyes. He was pretty and handsome at the same time to be honest, quite fitting to be an angel." I noticed Cain pale at my description of the boy and I made a mental note to ask him more about it after class. I made sure not to mention to the others what the boy had told me about Cain, though.
"Sounds like an angel to me," Jaden deadpanned next to me on the sofa, wearing his ever so Hot Topic attire, black on black on more black, a leather jacket instead of his sleeveless snake hoodie this time, "What did he say again?"
"He told me that someone, or some people were coming and that we all had to leave. He said I was in danger, that it wasn't safe here."
"Isn't that obvious? There's two killers on the loose." Cecil drawled next to Jaden. His platinum hair was back to its rightful low ponytail over his shoulder, his bangs hiding his beautiful right eye. He wore a tight knit long sleeved sweater under a brown jacket, snug jeans and dress shoes. He sat next to Jaden, resting his head on his shoulder, which didn't seem to bother Jaden at all. Cain frowned at his words.
"He... might be right. This, uh, boy. We should listen to him." He looked away for a moment, his eyes flickering slightly before glancing back at me pointedly. I stared at him for the longest time before Jaden spoke up.
"We can't just leave, though. Not like we could, even if we wanted to anyway. All we can do is stick close together." We all nodded grimly at that, because he was right; we really couldn't leave. Crystallite University had a big reputation for their tight security so we wouldn't be able to sneak out until winter break. Kind of ironic, given how two murders managed to take place in the once peaceful and safe university.
"If I happen to have another vision, I'll let you all know immediately,'' I said at last, fidgetting with my fingers on my lap nervously to look up at Cain, who looked back at me with a faint concern in his blue eyes, ''Uhm... Cain, yesterday you mentioned my eyes were glowing?"
"Yeah, like two fucking red glow sticks at an idol concert."
"It was probably your body reactin' to the holy connection or whatever that was," Jaden muttered, tapping his bottom lips with his index finger for a moment before he looked at me with a slight glare that made me tense as he spoke in that serious tone of his that combined with that glare, made me twitch a little, "Layla, what other things have you experienced out of the ordinary, besides seeing dead people?"
