"Move, you nephilim!"

"What the fuck did you just call me, you two-faced bitch?"

"I said move! She needs space!"

"She needs my help! Why the fuck do you care anyway? Aren't you always poking and probing at her and Jay?"

"She's going into Awakening, you idiot! Let her body heal on its own or this will be the least of your problems."

"Hey! The fuck ya doin', Sel?! If you even dare touch her, I'll make ya choke on your precious lil pests."

"Could you all please be quiet for a moment? She's regaining conscious."

Thank you, strange voice. Those three were drilling my head with their blubbering and shouting.

I opened my eyes slowly, grimacing at the amount of white lights that assaulted my vision. I reached up with a trembling arm, placing it over my eyes to shield the powerful lights from giving me another headache.

"Ugh, turn off the lights." I grunted quietly. I heard a loud squeal next to me and felt the arms of someone going around my neck, hugging me tightly.

"Bunny! Gods, you're okay!" Jaden exclaimed after he had stepped back, cupping my cheeks in his warm, calloused hands. My vision focused very slowly until I was staring into Jaden's attractive Greek face.

Those pretty large amber eyes, that long straight greek nose, that large mouth of his, his black hair a mess down the center of his face. I could see every inch of his attractive face perfectly. For some reason I could perfectly see everything that surrounded me too, without really having to look at it. I could see Cain kneeling next to me, Sel and A behind him, Cecil next to Jaden.

"What happened?" I asked, pausing when I sensed an odd lisp in my speech, my voice hoarse. I felt a throbbing pain in my gums, like a teeth had fallen off. I immediately pressed my tongue against my teeth in alarm, tensing when I felt two sleek... fangs in my mouth? I reached up with a trembling hand to touch them, confirming I had indeed a pair of pointy fangs in my gums, where my canines should be.

What the hell happened?

I looked up at Jaden with a frown and he averted his eyes for a moment, getting up as he took my hands to help me stand up slowly. My gaze drifted around the room that was now half destroyed, windows shattered, most of the light bulbs either shattered or flickering, one of the walls completely missing, no one left in the area except us. I could smell the strong scent of chlorine with the strong metallic scent of blood. My eyes widened at that and I snapped my head in the pool's direction, now red by the blood that had been poured on it and I felt the blood drain from my face when I caught a glimpse of the torn body of a blonde male floating in it.

It wasn't a dream.

Mike... was killed. By a monster. Right in front of me.

"It's okay, buns. I... I'm sure he's in a better place right now." Jaden said tightly, his voice pained. He pushed his wet hair back from his face before he pulled me close to him and I accepted his hug. I hugged him back, trying to fight off the tears pricking at my eyes. I tried to distract myself as I inhaled the scents of him that felt stronger than ever before, cinnamon and leather, and something sweet, something very Jaden. I titled my head back and peered into those beautiful amber orbs, that golden orange mixture of colors swirling in a sea of emotions.

Pain. Indecision. Sadness.

"We need to get out of here." Sel announced after a moment of silence, making all of us stare at her.

"Excuse me, what's this we bullshit I'm hearing? Cuz last I checked, you were in the enemy's side, bitch." Cain spat, folding his arms over his chest. I saw a muscle under Sel's eye twitch slightly, like she wanted to choke Cain to death but she restrained herself from doing so. She placed one slender hand over her hips and raked Cain with a disgusting stare.
