After showering and breakfast, you and Ace were relaxing on deck. He was laying on your lap as you went with your fingers through his hair. This day had been particulary... hot, and the two of you grew as close as possible. You made peace with the fact that the days with Ace were close to over and that you might never see him again. Because you knew that he loved you and only you, giving you the best time of your life.

Ace knew too.

"(Y/n), if I make it out alive, I want to introduce you to Pops and everyone else." He said, kissing your hand. You smiled at that. "Gladly." You replied. You looked up at the sun. It slowly sunk towards the horizon, accompagnied with a soft orange sky.

You wasted the day.

Well, not exactly wasted. You spent it... efficient in your own way.

Ace was looking at the sun as well. "Sure comes closer, huh..." He sighed, you knowing what he meant. So you nodded. The ravenhaired male sat up with a grin as he looked at you. "I want to do all the things we did together one more time." He said, standing up and pulling you up with him. It was a sweet gesture and you agreed. Ace took your hand and took you towards the door to the hallway, when he suddenly stopped, staring at something in the distance. "What?" You asked. He looked at you and started laughing. "Nothing, nothing!" He said, waving it off as he took you inside.

We did everything one more time.

Only one more time.

Eating pancakes, training, and just enjoying eachothers company.

Had you known this was the last time you could see him, you wouldn't have closed your eyes.

When you opened your eyes again, Ace was gone.

"Ace?" You called out to him, but no reply. You jumped out of bed and went to the kitchen. No Ace.

Where did he go?

You searched every corner and spot on your ship, but you couldn't find him. He... he had left you.

Tears were streaming down your cheeks as you stopped your search and came to a halt on the deck. The moon was high. Midnight.

Sudden pain struck your heart as you fell to your knees. You learnt so many emotions with him: love, happiness, annoyance, anger... so, so many.

And now you learnt the last and most painful one of all: heartbreak. The person you couldn't live without anymore left you. He was gone. Without saying goodbye, without a note... gone. You still had a few days to say goodbye! To do all those things together again and again. You looked up to the sky. In between your sobs, you took a deep breath and leant forwards, before letting out all your frustrations and pain. All of them.

"ACE! ACE!! ACEEEEE!"

You tried to wipe away your tears, to no avail.

"No... Ace..."
