Nathan takes in a deep breath. “Well,” begins the back haired boy, “There are four stones that control the powers of this dimension. Earth, air, fire, water: the four original elements. Without the stone of each the world will plummet into chaos. Each stone has a protector, or guardian. I safeguard the water; Fila, the air; my brother Xander, the earth. The Fire Stone has been taken and we need you, Endelyn, to recover it. You are the protector of fire.” I scoff at him. “Yeah right, I am going to start flinging fire around with a magical stone, whoop! Oh, and the entire planet depends on some stones!” Nathan doesn’t seem fazed. He continues on, “Have you noticed an increase in temperature lately? Did you hear about the volcanic eruptions in Hawaii and Pompeii? What about all the fires that have started with no explanation recently?” “Well, no, not really.” I answer. “Really?” Nathan honestly seems shocked. I stare firmly at Nathan and probably look like I can bite his head off, which is something that I take in pride. “Do you listen to the news at all,” the black haired boy asks while scratching the back of his head. “Nope,” I answer curtly and walk back into my house to grab supplies, suddenly making up my mind to believe this nut case.
“Hey! Where are you going?” I keep a steady pace towards the back door. “Geeze, she’s impossible,” I hear Nathan hiss at Fila.
