I wake up to Fila shaking my shoulder gently.  “Endelyn, dinner is ready.  Would you want some food or shall I leave you to rest?”  I sit up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.  “How long have I been sleeping for?” I ask.  Fila bites her lip, “About eleven hours; don’t feel bad, you’ve been through a lot.”  I bolt to me feet.  Eleven hours!  So much could have happened.  I wonder if my parents are looking for me or have contacted authority; I sure hope not.  Pushing away negative thoughts, I thank Fila for waking me and follow her out of the tent towards the fire pit I saw when first arriving.

There I see Nathan, the boy and girl I saw sparing earlier, a middle-aged woman, and several other boys and girls appearing in age from fifteen years to mid-twenties.  I spot an empty log next to Nathan and take the opportunity to sit next to him.  “Hey, Sleeping Beauty,” he says with a wink.  I glower at him.  “What are we eating?” I ask.  Nathan gestures at a bag of hotdogs sitting on a table a few feet away which I neglected to notice.  “Oh, right,” I say, feeling slightly embarrassed.  I grab a metal stick that is propped up against the table holding tonight’s meal, grab a hotdog, and roast my dinner camping style.  I haven’t roasted hotdogs over an open fire since camping with my father as a young girl; for a moment I am absorbed in my memories.
Nathan’s voice soon snaps me back into reality.  “Everyone, this is Endelyn.  She is here to help us take back the fire stone.”  I wave at all the strange faces, “herwwo,” I attempt to say with a mouth full of hot dog while rapidly turning red.  “Endelyn, this is everyone,” Nathan goes around naming everyone.  The boy I saw sparing earlier turns out to be Nathan’s brother, Xander and his partner is Stacy.  The middle-aged lady is Sage, who keeps order in the camp- to some extent.

I swallow my dinner and cough, still red in the face.  “Uh, hi.  I really don’t know what I can do to help you, but I am here to help, according to Nathan.”  Nathan gives my hand a quick squeeze and announces we will begin my training soon and we will be on the mission to regain the fire stone as quickly as possible.
