7. Did You Follow Me On Instagram Because You Wanted To Follow Your Dreams?

"That was torture... literally!" I groan.

"Yeah... it was calculus," Robbie says in a duh tone.

"Sitting next to Emery," I add.

"That's worse," Clove nods.

"My point exactly," I say, trudging along with them.

"But it wasn't actual torture," Robbie points out.

I just look at him and he realizes he should stop.

"You gonna text your boyfriend now?" Clove asks.

"Who?" Robbie asks.

"Daniel Seavey," Clove smirks.

"No fucking way. There is no way our simple Alex would ever have Daniel Seavey as her boyfriend," Robbie says, shaking his head.

"Gee thanks for the vote of confidence," I say as I roll my eyes.

"I thought the same thing but it's actually true!" Clove says.

"Proof or it didn't happen," Robbie says.

"Well she has DMs and texts," Clove says.

"What are you waiting for then? Show them!" Robbie exclaims.

"I'm waiting to get to class," I smirk. "Bye bitches."

Is it really that unbelievable? Runs through my mind, doubt and worry cloud all of my thoughts and render me incapable of paying attention in class.

Soon enough, it was lunch and Clove, Robbie, and I were reunited.

"Texts?!" Robbie exclaims impatiently.

"Oh yeah," I say, pulling my phone out and showing him the texts.

"Ooh ooh! Can I text him?" Robbie and Clove exclaim like hyperactive bunnies.

"Knock yourself out," I say with a chuckle.

"Well, there's something we all want you to do," Katherine chortles behind me.

"Aww, how hard was that for you to come in with?" I ask. "Are you tired? Do you need a nap?"

"Shut up." She says rudely, not being able come up with a comeback.

"Great comeback, where'd you get it? The restroom?" I ask.

"Well at least I don't look like shit everyday," she says, walking away.

"Don't flatter yourself!" I shout after her, wanting the last word.

I look over at Robbie and Clove who have their hands up for high fives. I gladly give them high fives and they start to text Daniel.

"What should we send?" Robbie asks.

"How about a weird pickup line changed up thing?" Clove suggests.

"Huh?" Robbie asks, clearly confused.

"How about: did you follow me on Instagram because you wanted to follow your dreams?" Clove says with a smirk as I cringe and Robbie starts typing.

"Oh god," I say, putting my head in my hands.

"Oh yes," Clove says, smirking.

I look over at my phone to see the three dots that mean he's typing.

Danny Boy: maybe... why?

Robbie and Clove start cackling and teasing me. I grab the phone from them and start to fix what they caused.

Alex: sorry, my stupid friends took my phone
Danny Boy: oh 😶
Alex: were you messing with them or did you mean it?
Danny Boy: I decided to play along since I didn't know what was happening.
Alex: oh

My spirits drop considerably at this but I don't even know why. A heavy stone drops in the pit of my stomach, hurting a little. Robbie and Clove look at my with sympathetic smiles.

Danny Boy: I'm sorry, did I say something wrong?
Alex: nope

"Why didn't she say the truth?" Robbie whispers to Clove.

"Because then she would come on too strong," Clove whispers back.

"Girls are complicated," Robbie whispers back.

"I know," Clove simply replies while I stare on at their conversation in amusement since they don't know I'm watching.

I decide to stop texting him so I send one last one.

Alex: I have to go now, still have school
Danny Boy: oh ok

I don't think about the Why Don't We boys for the rest of the school day. We don't talk about them since Robbie and Clove can guess that it's kind of a sensitive topic for me.

Sorry for not updating for a few days, I've been working mostly on About Time and He's The Bad Boy? so sorry!!😬 I will definitely update at least twice more this week because school is starting next week and I want to update as much as I can before school starts since I will only have weekly updates then.
