"I know that you already asked me out and I should trust you, but where are we going?" I ask, speaking in the phone.
There's an uncomfortably long pause before he replies, "Umm, I don't know."
"Do you know when at least?" I question.
"Yeah, it will be in 3 days," he says firmly.
"That's Saturday right?" I question.
"Yup," he answers.
"Okay, well bye I have to get to school," I say, putting on my shoes.
"Kay bye!" He says and disconnects the call.
I walk out of the house to see Clove's familiar car in my driveway.
"So, when will we tell them that celebrities asked us out?" Clove asks, wiggling her eyebrows.
"No we're not telling them," I answer quickly.
"Why?" She asks.
"Because they'll twist it around and make us feel bad," I answer.
"No, that's not good enough," Clove says.
"Fine!" I groan, reluctant to tell her the real reason. "Because she ruins everything I have, love, or want."
"Ding ding!" She exclaims. "We've stumbled upon the right answer."
"How do you know that?" I question.
"Because we don't give a fuck what everyone else thinks, so that wasn't a good enough reason," she replies logically.
"Wow. Clove, that's actually... smart!" I exclaim.
"Thanks!" She chirps before realizing the underlying message. "Hey!"
"Well, it took ya long enough," I say with a chuckle.
"Jerk," she says.
"Wrong! Best friend jerk!" I correct her.
"I'm not calling you that," she says, parking in front of Robbie's house.
"And I never told you to," I say with a wink.
