Author's POV
Lavanya entered the room again without making any noise, Jacky saw her slowly walking towards him. When she came and stood in-front of him, he gestured her to take a seat so she sat on the chair.
"Balram..." Both of them started at the same time so they just stopped and stared at each other silently for some moments.
"Ahem...you please continue." Jacky drifted away his gaze & allowed her to speak first.
After a short pause, she spoke. "No...I was just saying that Balram sir told me to get in here, you...wanted to talk?"
"Yeah...I...me?" He was convinced that he had something to say but then when he tried to remember what it was, he realized that he didn't have anything to say and it was Balram who made this up. Balram!! Jacky rolled his eyes. "I didn't want to talk." He shook his head looking at her with a frown.
She instantly felt bad, her expression couldn't hide it and that made Dawson guilty. "No, No...I didn't mean it in that way...I mean, it's not like...I don't wanna talk to you, it's just that I don't know what to say as you have already shut all the doors between us. I don't feel like sharing my feelings with you anymore because a person should understand what you are talking about and these days, I feel like you had never tried to understand my feelings for you so, it's quite difficult for me to talk to you." He told his heart out.
"Please, please, don't say that, I can be your friend at least." She tried to make him comfortable but seemed like it was not working.
"Your heartless decision has made me realize, Miss Lavanya...how lonely I am in this world, after-all!" He was blinking giving a blank expression.
"No. No, please. Don't say so, your mother is there with you, your friend...James and..."
"But no 'Lavanya'!" He cut her off which made her completely speechless. She couldn't help but stare at him with glossy eyes, her lips were trembling.
"Mr.Dawson, please don't make it difficult for me to..." She broke into tears again which was painful for him too.
"If you have already taken your final decision, Miss Lavanya Verma; then you should be happy and strong. Being weak and looking unhappy won't convince others that you really are happy." He advised. "Wipe your tears away, Miss Verma. That is how you make strong decisions in life. Mark my words, your happiness is in your hands."
The way Jacky spoke to her, she felt as if it was not the one who she loved but the Jacky Dawson who was now gearing up to going away from her and living his life, the same egocentric, ruthless & powerful decision maker she met for the first time.
I should be happy that he is trying to move on, right? Lavanya reminded herself.
What is it, then?
Why can't I feel good about it?
Why is it giving me so much pain?
Why? Lavanya kept asking herself.
"Go home, Balram will drop you and... do not dare to repeat the same what you did today by coming here all alone, in this..." He pointed at her drenched outfit. "...at this hour, in this weather. You are Lavanya, a very responsible girl who doesn't do anything reckless, remember?" Somehow his words sounded like sarcasm to her so, she gave a confused expression.
"Then, why did you do this to yourself?" She pointed at his wrecked body.
"I am Jacky Dawson, did you forget? I do reckless things, I do whatever I want without thinking of anyone else, without caring about others. I am the most imperfect man on earth who doesn't deserve to be loved or lived with or spent time with. I am just..." He was continuing but got halted by Lavanya's hug.
