iii. pointy cartoons - anime

why is anime negativity looked upon? it's literally cartoons in hd with more plot and meaning.

my own mother calls it "pointy cartoons" on account of how the animation is more defined and the hairstyles consist of jagged lines and expressions.

but when talking about anime people either think your horny (hentai) or that you are "so Asian it hurts my small eyes - lol, get it?"

not everyone who watches anime is Asian or is a "wannabe Asian."

it's called watching something that interests you. just because someone watches "keeping up with the kardashians" doesn't mean that they want to become a kardashian or that every who watches "grey's anatomy" wants to become a doctor. "thirteen reasons why" doesn't mean that i am a suicidal teen who is unhappy with life.

it's just another form of entertainment from another part of the world.

and cosplaying, don't even get me started.

for some reasons society thinks that cosplaying is a kink or slutty. yes, i have to admit that sometimes anime characters don't wear the most practical clothes (especially females) but cosplaying is dressing up, just on days that aren't halloween.

so i have to agree that some anime fans are over the top and can be annoying at times but not everyone is like that.

true, there are some fans with ridiculous usernames (a/n: @oyaoyanishinoya who tf r u get out u fake hypocrite) and people who take things to far by starting fanwars or spamming comment sections but there are many different types of fans.

people need to start realizing that one select group does not define a whole demographic of people.

let's not even talk about the more "mainstream anime" that have been so deculturalized that they aren't even considered culture appropriate.

(hides in shame because she was an active pokémon fan for years but still threw it under the bus)
