The Avenger Class Servant (A Fate/Stay Night/Avengers crossover)

First Winter

So, this fic is taking place just before Captain America Winter Soldier.

Shirou moaned.  These past 2 years have been so busy, with him coming to this world, fighting Loki, joining SHIELD, helping Wade, and meeting the Ancient One.

'Seriously,' he thought, slamming his head into the seat.  'Doesn't anyone else have to deal with this stuff.'

Shirou was currently being taken to a private SHIELD  facility to help with defenses.  His driver was one of his most loyal spirits, the Rider Servant Medusa.  As they were making their way into the woods, Shirou looked bored out the window.  That was when he saw something.

He saw a flash of metal in the shadows.  Using his clairvoyance, he saw a rocket launcher aimed at the car.  Shirou mentally told Rider to prepare for an ambush.

KABOOM!

The car exploded, leaving nothing but scorching flames and debris.  Medusa quickly shifted to spiritual form, ready to back Shirou up if he needed it.  Shirou also disappeared from sight, using the Cap of Hades.

The two saw a man with a metal arm walk closer to check for survivors.  He scanned around.  Shirou decided to play with the man.

"My, my," Shirou said, "how dangerous."

The man turned towards where his voice originated, drawing a pistol.  The man scanned the area.  Shirou scanned the the gun and the metal arm and discovered that the man was named James Barnes, an ex-soldier from World War II who had been captured and turned into a assassin for the terrorist group known as Hydra, given the name of Winter Soldier.

Creating silver wire, Shirou began using alchemy, flowing his magical energy into the wire and forcing it to take the form of birds.  Shirou took off his hat, revealing himself to his enemy.

Alarmed that Shirou had suddenly appeared before him, the Winter Soldier shot at him, but each shot was blocked by the homunulus familiars, the wire birds.  They began chasing him.  Blasting down magical blasts, the birds stalked the assassin, who retreated into the woods.  Shirou had the familiars chase him, but they were caught off guard by a smoke bomb.  When the smoke cleared, he saw the Winter Soldier on a helicopter, which was driven by a Hydra agent.  The Winter Soldier took out a sniper rifle and aimed at Shirou.  He fired, but the shot was blocked by another one of Shirou's birds.  Shirou smiled at the metal armed man with the snipe rifle.

"An excellent try," Shirou commented, "but your too slow."

Shirou moved his arms and the familiars attacked, turning into swords.  They sped towards the helicopter, ready to rip it apart.  The Winter Soldier managed to put three off course, but the others smashed into it.  With an explosion, the copter went down.

"That was too easy," Medusa commented, appearing beside him.

"You're right," Shirou said, narrowing his eyes.  "Most likely, the Winter Soldier survived."

"By Winter Soldier, I assume you mean the metal arm man."

"Yes," Shirou nodded.  "Summon your mount.  We need to get going."

"To report to SHIELD?" Medusa asked curiously.

Shirou chuckled.  "God no.  Think about it.  I was summoned to a random SHIELD base in the middle of nowhere to increase it defenses and then I was suddenly ambushed by a Hydra agent.  There could only be one reason for that."

"I'm not following," Medusa said.  "What are you talking about?"

Shirou gave Medusa a disappointed look.  "Isn't it obvious?  Hydra has infiltrated SHIELD.  And judging how they so boldly attacked us, they're probably overthrowing it as we speak."

"Then, everyone is in danger."

Shirou laughed.  "Yeah, but we have a different target."

"Target."

"Yeah.  You see, if Hydra has SHIELD, then they have all their information on the Avengers.  And if they attacked me, then they are obviously going to attack the others."

"So we're going after the other Avengers?" the Rider class Servant asked.

"Well actually," Shirou said, "we're going to warn arguably the most powerful of the Avengers.  God knows if he gets angry, he might destroy the entire town."

"You don't mean."

"Indeed.  C'mon.  Let's go see the Incredible Hulk."
