Trouble

After a day or so of having the new captain Jim finally decided to tell him about Ed's situation. He walked up to the office door and knocked "come in" a voice came from the inside, Jim walked in to see captain Barnes sitting at his desk "do you need something Gordon?" He asked looking up at him "yes actually, one of the cops has been threatening Ed he said it was Doughtery" Jim said keeping his voice steady, when he said this the captain looked up "he told you that?" He said sounding suspicious "yes, I talked to Doughtery when I noticed something off about a conversation I overheard, it sounded like a threat so I talked to him, after he avoided my questions I talked to Ed he took my aside and told me everything" Jim said still looking down at the captain "what did he tell you?" Barnes implored, Jim repeated everything that Ed told him to Barnes "he was crying by the time he was done" Jim finished "alright, I'll look into it" Barnes said Jim walked out of the office and ran into Tom "hey Doughtery" he said nodding at him he was obviously not in the best mood with Tom after what he'd heard.

Tom had been standing outside the office and heard the conversation they'd had while waiting to speak to the captain, he figured he'd deal with the little snitch after work.

After work Ed walked home since his car was in the shop to get fixed. He was walking calmly when someone grabbed his arm and pulled him into an alley, when he looked up his heart dropped into his stomach, it was Doughtery. He towered over Ed by a bit "so you decided to tell Gordon huh? Did you think I wouldn't find out?" He snarled, Ed noticed he had a knife in his hand and knew what Tom was going to do. Tom grabbed his shirt and lifted him off his feet. Ed's eyes widened when his feet left the ground he tried to plead and beg "please, I'm sorry I'm sorry please don't hurt me" but it was no use, Tom swung his arm back ready to push the knife into Ed just like he had days prior until the heard someone shout "HEY" it was Bullock.

Bullock spotted the two in the corner of his eye while walking home from work, he heard someone swear under their breath "Doughtery?" He questioned, then he saw who Doughtery had Pinned to the wall, it was Ed, who among seeing him called out "Detective Bullock, help!" He pleaded weakly, Bullock pulled out his badge "GCPD! Your under arrest" he pushed Tom over and Ed fell to the ground, Tom and him fought for a moment before Bullock managed to get the cuffs around Toms wrists, he pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed Another officer "hey, I'm gonna need some help here"

They were back at the office now The captain looking daggers into Tom "I expected better from you Detective Do- sorry, I should say Tom, leave your badge and your gun on the counter on the way out" Barnes said "and I think it would be in your best interest to leave town." Barnes added, as one of the Other cops escorted Tom out of the office, the Captain turned to Ed and gave him a surprisingly gentle (or as gentle as you can get with a guy like Barnes) look "you should head home, it's been a long day" he said nodding at Ed "yes, sir." Ed nodded back as he turned to head out of the office, it had been a long day and Ed needed some rest.
