Kristen Kringle walked into her office to find a letter on her desk it read "Now and then a mans gotta take a trip outa town. don't You worry your pretty little head about it. Don't wait around for me. Go have some fun and maybe I'll give you a call when I get back to Gotham, and if not. Hey it was fun" Kristen sighed, barley hearing as Ed walked into the room "Ms.Kringle?" He said looking down at her "Are you alright?" He asked her tilting his head to the side "Officer Doughtery left town" she repeated the letter back to him "I mean seriously? He couldn't even tell me to my face" she said sounding annoyed "sometimes with men you need patience" he said, how did Kristen not notice how cute he was? His eyes were gentle and- no. She shook that thought out of her head and stood up "sometimes with men. You need a drink." She snapped and stalked out of the room.

A few days later Ed had managed to muster up the courage to ask her if he walked into the records room knocking the door as he entered, she looked up at him "um...can we talk for a moment?" He asked a lump building in his throats he was extremely nervous "um, sure?" She said "about what?" She said, Ed took a deep breath "it occurred to me that my behaviour towards you hasn't gone as smoothly as my mind was telling me it had, truth is Ms.Kringle, I like you. A lot. But it tend to have trouble expressing those kinds of things"

"I like you." He said that part quickly, as if ripping off a bandaid. Kristen simply stated a moment before the realization clicked that all the awkward comments, the reorganization of her files and everything thing else he'd done had been an attempt to flirt and show affection "oh, it never occurred to me" she said quietly, she felt bad now, for all the times she'd snapped at him or called him weird, because he'd i to been trying to express something he wasn't used to "that's actually, really sweet" she said, she looked up at him "so basically, what I'm trying to say is, would you, maybe um, like to go out sometime?" He said it quickly looking down at his feet, Kristen considered it for a moment, she should give him a chance, he'd only been trying to be nice so she decided "yes"

Ed looked up when he heard her say 'yes' he had been expecting a roll of eyes and an annoyed 'no' but she had said 'yes' he smiled brightly and said "does Saturday around 7:00 work for you?" He asked "yeah, that sounds great" she said, smiling as well "okay, great I'll uh, I'll see you then" he said excitedly, he then bid her good bye and left the room.
