"You ready to go buddy?" Baekhyun asked with a grin as he stared down at Luna's son. The young boy's hair had recently been cut and the kid was more than down about it.

Hence why Baekhyun had promised to take the kid to a movie.

"We're all ready" Luna smiled as she took ahold of her son's hand and guided him to Baekhyun's flashy car.

The young boy had jumped into the backseat before hopping up and down as his mother readjusted his seatbelt. Luna sighed as her son's head collided with her own followed by the young one's loud laughter. 

"Silly Mummy!"

Luna had fallen into the passenger seat before cuddling into the side door as Baekhyun started the car.

"You good garden girl?" Baekhyun's soft tone only brought a small smile to the woman's face. 

"Yeah I guess" She seemed a little down, she lacked enthusiasm and seemed thorougly exhausted. Baekhyun couldn't blame her as he stared at the bouncing boy in the back seat through the rear view mirror. 

"You know what makes a bad day better?" Baekhyun grinned as he adjusted the volume setting.

"Sing Alongs!" Baekhyun screamed, Jasper cheered and Luna groaned. However, as they sped down the well paved road towards the drive through, baekhyun could spy Luna bopping her head to the song. However she released a sound of displeasure as Baekhyun decreased the volume to pay for their tickets. 

"Ooooooooohhhhh" The young boy yelped as he was handed a long thin paper ticket. Luna couldn't even prevent her grin as she held the ticket in her hands for the first time. 

The movie was a romcom and Luna was engrossed with every second of it. Baekhyun had attached the speakers closer to Luna's side of the car while Baekhyun watched her from the corner of his eye. His admired the curve of her plump lips and the crinkle of each eye as she laughed. 

Jasper however, just came for the opening cartoons. After the movie had come on, he began to play with his action figures in the backseat.  

Throughout an incredibly steamy scene, the long ring of a mobile had brought both Luna and her son out of their little dazes. Luna frowned as she spoke to whoever was on the other end.

"I'm so sorry Baekhyun, Kris just called, we've got to go, come on Jasper" Luna apologised before ripping her eyes away from Baekhyun's.

Baekhyun could feel his heart throbbing within his throat, pulsing and growing with every second. It was too hard to swallow and even harder to speak. All he could do was nod.

Baekhyun's once beaming smile now resembled that of a storm cloud, unhappy. The corners of his lips tilted downwards while his eyes furrowed slightly. He refused to meet Luna's gaze, careful not to make any contact with the woman he had pinned his heart on.

Of course Kris would get the girl. This wouldn't be the first time. Kris was remarkably tall and his voice was a deep as a bass guitar. Kris was s cool guy, like a thousand years in the future, while Baekhyun was shorter, High pitched and insanely clingy.

Luna had buckled Jasper up in the backseat as the young boy began to cry. Tears flooded down the young boy's cheeks as the movie he had so desperately wanted to see played onwards and Baekhyun's car moved further away from the drive in.

Luna however felt her heart strings tug at the sight of her son crying, she certainly didn't miss the way Baekhyun's carefree aura evaporated like a puddle in the sun.

"Thank you Baekhyun" Luna spoke softly as Baekhyun's hands tightened significantly around the leather steering wheel. His knuckles were the colour of a ghost's skin while his eyes were as dark as their graves.

Baekhyun didn't respond as his car pulled to a stop in the young woman's driveway. Both sat in silence. Baekhyun's eyes were locked onto the front window covered by thin purple sheets, whereas Luna's gazed silently over Baekhyun's soft skin.

"Goodnight Baekhyun" Jasper was swiftly unbuckled from the Backseat, dried tears cascading down his chubby cheeks. His small body chucked over his mother's shoulder, exhaustion beating through the child after his tantrum.

Baekhyun's face remained emotionless as the two disappeared behind a thinly planked from door. The man pulled out from the driveway before speeding down the road.

As the neighbourhood blurred in Baekhyun's side vision, he couldn't help but tear up at the thought of Kris once again taking what was his. For once, Despite his crush being minor, he thought the girl would somehow enjoy Baekhyun's behaviour rather than Kris's cool demeanour.

Was his head filled with air rather than a brain? Why did he bother? He was certain he'd be able to contain his emotional heartbreak from the first date. He would've, if only he wasn't ditched for Kris.

Baekhyun could feel his heart fall from his lips like vomit as he opened his mouth to sob, the once beating organ now lying on the floor in pieces.

Such feeling for a human were magnified by a hundred when transitioned into a vampire. A crush felt like a promise or a blood binding. A girlfriend felt like a wife. The promise his heart had made him the moment he saw Luna was crumpled under her black boots. The cries of her son only adding to his misery.

He had hoped that he was loveable.
