Chanyeol and his long ass legs had taken up most of the space in the small tents, hence Baekhyun was sleeping upright.
The sunshine shone brightly through the tents walls and disrupted the older man's sleeping as his rubbed his hands across his eyes sleepily.
Each tent had been locked up for the day due to the sun's wrath. However each was sent to bed with a bloodbag and small card filled with rules and regulations.
"Rule and regulation 9 - Represent your Queen in ways that will only bring goodness to our Kind- this is bullshit" Baekhyun deadpanned he slapped the card onto Chanyeol's knee.
"I hear you" Chanyeol murmured as his hand fell over his eyes.
"At least someone's getting lucky tonight" Baekhyun stifled a laugh at how blunt Chanyeol's tone was. It was true that the goof- Kai- was handsome but his taste in intelligent women left him with the poor fact that they were married.
"Yes, but they're not partnered together are they?" Baekhyun asked. Besides sleeping partners, each had been placed in pairs on the battlefield.
"Yeah he is"
That left Jongin and KiYoung, Xiumin and Suho, Baekhyun and Sehun, Chanyeol and Chen and lastly Kyungsoo and Lay.
Baekhyun wasn't so disappointed that his was with Sehun but prayed that the man's stubborn and bruised ego wouldn't get them both killed.
"When do we head out?" Baekhyun asked as he rubbed a small hand through his dark locks.
"Uh after we do our paired exercises. Then we get sent out I think"
Baekhyun wanted to laugh at how easily they were being disposed of. Every vampire receives military training when they reach age 100 and it had been a while since Baekhyun was 100. He'd need a refresher.
"Look, let's not dwell on it too much. If we die then we die. It's no big deal" Chanyeol's demeanour had Baekhyun's eyebrows furrow. He was shocked at how easily Chanyeol would give up.
"Don't you ever say that to me again" Baekhyun scolded, his voice reaching a near shout.
Chanyeol only stared emotionally back. Neither knowing how far Chanyeol had really fallen.
