Time was running out. The clock that ticked by with every hour was just a countdown. A countdown until he had to leave both the girl who smiled so graciously and her son who cheered in delight.

Every glance at the two of them, was just another reminder that the days were running short. Three days left.

Sehun's mother had made the announcement, broadcasting on all networks. Luna had scoffed at the Queen's decision before muttering 'Stupid bloodsucker' under her breath. Just the thought of rejection had kept Baekhyun's  true form from shine through.

Kai had been shocked to find both Luna and her son sleeping in his bedroom. Just seeing his wide eyes, as the woman wrapped around his arm gasped at the sight.

"You've got a wife?!" The woman accused before storming out the front door.

Kai had been gracious enough to allow them into their shared house. He had switched up his lifestyle completely simply because Baekhyun had asked him to.

Baekhyun hadn't heard from Kris personally, although knew he had contacted the rest of his brothers. Each called with a similar question.

'Kris's girlfriend's gone missing, have you seen her?'

Baekhyun always replied no. However a nagging feeling popped up in his mind at every corner.

Kris was certainly selfish enough to not follow the Queen's orders. So what was Baekhyun to do while he was away? The house would be left unprotected, the two vulnerable angels left inside like sitting ducks.

Baekhyun wasn't sure what to do. With the young boy cradled within his grasp as soft snores passed by his thin lips, his mother humming along to a tune on the radio as she flipped through a magazine.

'Should I be nervous?' Luna had asked, her thin fingers passing by her lips as she nibbled on her nails.

'What do you mean?' He'd asked, allowing his cool hand to rub over the young boy's bare back in comfort. The young one's fever being eased at Baekhyun's insanely low body heat.

'These Vampires Baek. They've declared war on us. Please tell me that you'll only be away on your business trip for a few days at the most. I don't want to be left here alone'

Baekhyun didn't know how he would be able to explain that He'd be gone for God knows how long. So the simple business trip excuse seemed like the right thing.

'I don't know how long I'll be gone. But I assure you that you'll be fine' Luna scooted to her left and closer towards the man before asking silently with her eyes if she could rest her head against him.

Luna's warm scent swallowed him whole, allowing him to bask in the sweet smell.

'You smell even sweeter than usual' Baekhyun commented, slightly taken aback from the minor addition to her fruit scent.

'Really? Nothing's changed' she smiled before wrapping her arms around both Jasper and himself.

'Thank you Baekhyun. For everything you've ever done for me' she whispered before kissing the vampire's pink coloured cheek.
