Time weighed on Baekhyun's shoulders like gym weights. Luna's head rested over his unbeating heart as she sighed in contentment.

"Promise me you'll be home soon" she whispered as her eyes closed and lips parted with a breath.

Baekhyun could feel a grip around his upper thigh tighten and small hands clamp around his knee. The young boy had snuggled his head into Baekhyun's clothed leg before Baekhyun ran his hand through the young one's dark locks.

"I will Lu, don't worry" Luna stiffened in Baekhyun's arms, her muscles tightening as they tensed. Within moments she loosened and allowed herself to rest into Baekhyun fully.

"Lu? That's a new one" she spoke with a small smile before lifting her head to meet Baekhyun's.

"Come on man, it's time to go" Kai had called from the bus that had pulled up only minutes ago. The large bus was filled with men and women alike, each dressed in a uniform that was delivered very descretly days before.

"Woah wait Baek, that's a lot of people!" Luna exclaimed.

"Don't worry, it's a group business trip. I don't know when I'll be back but I'll call" Baekhyun spoke with a smile before rubbing his hand through Jasper's hair.

"Don't go don't go don't go" Jasper changed in a teary whisper.

"I'll be back soon buddy" with that, Baekhyun abandoned both mother and son to meet his brothers on the train.

All nine sat together, while three noticeable faces were missing.

Tao, Luhan and Kris.

Baekhyun decided not to make the mood any drearier and avoided all contact with Sehun. Sehun had the most sour look etched across his face, his nails picked at the paint job of the bus as his lips pulled into a furious scowl.

Baekhyun truly couldn't blame the younger man. He was royalty, due to take up his Mother's crown and take over the kingdom. Instead he was being thrown onto the battlefield to die all in the sake of honour.

Baekhyun's body fit snuggly between Chanyeol and Kai as the two radiated warmth. The change made Baekhyun's heart yearn for a warmth that belonged to Luna only. But Chanyeol and Kai would have to suffice for now.

As the engine of the bus started up and drove into the distance, Baekhyun's head bobbed up to see young Jasper sobbing into his mother's chest. One of Luna's arms was wrapped thoroughly around her son's waist and the other was thrown up in the air with a wave.

Baekhyun sure would miss that smile.
