"Xiumin!"
That one sob had both Luhan and Chen at their feet, running down the hall. Halfway Luhan crashed into Baekhun, who was crying.
"Baek, talk!" Luhan ordered, shaking the boy by his shoulders.
"He just- guys- he-" Baekhyun sobbed, covering his face. Chen ran into the room Baekhyun came from, only to gasp in horror. Xiumin was an ice sculpture; he was staring in horror at his hands. Ice also blasted around him, and one of the trees were frozen solid.
"Xiumin!" Chen ran up and went in front of him. He put his hands on the sculptures cheeks, trying to find any spark in its eye.
"Xiumin? Can you hear me? Xiumin..." He touched his forehead with the sculpture's. But Xiumin stayed the same; cold and still, with no signs of life.
"Baekhyun, get Lay!" Luhan snapped. He came up to Xiumin and tried to find a pulse. Baekhyun nodded and ran off, coming back a minute later.
Lay ran in and grabbed the sculptures wrist. He closed his eyes and focused with all his might. All the times he and Xiumin laughed, talked, snuggled, comforted each other...
The ice shattered and Xiumin came from the middle. He fell into Chen, yelping.
"Xiumin!" Chen hugged him tightly, breathing hard. Xiumin shuddered furiously and started bawling. Lay swayed on the spot, his eyes glazed over. Baekhyun ran up to him and crushed him in a hug, kissing his cheek.
"You did it!" Baekhyun breathed. "You saved him! You're a hero!"
Lay nodded weakly, hugging him back. More like leaning into him; he could barely think straight, and his vision was blacking out. Luhan hugged Xiumin too, trying to get him to talk.
"It just... it just... came to me." Xiumin sobbed. "It trapped me."
"You're OK now. You're fine." Luhan sat him down on the ground. Chen took his face again and kissed his forehead, trying to calm him. Luhan took his hand, only to jerk it back. Frost covered his hand now, and he winced.
"Ow."
Xiumin sobbed harder, hugging his knees. The air turned cold.
"I'm sorry!" He sobbed. "I didn't mean it, I swear!"
"I know you didn't," Luhan said, willing a scarf to him. He wrapped it around his hand. He didn't say anything, but his hand felt colder than he's ever felt.
Chen didn't care that Lay was passing out, or that Luhan had a frostbite, or that Baekhyun was trying not to freak out. All that mattered was Xiumin, curled up in a ball and crying.
"Xiumin, you're OK. You're fine now. I promise that won't happen again."
He tried to take Xiumin's hand, but Xiumin pulled it away.
"What if I freeze you?" He sniffed. Chen smiled and took his hand, placing it on his cheek. Xiumin's hand was cold, but that didn't bother Chen.
"I don't care." He whispered. "I don't give a care in the world if you turn me into an ice cube, or turn the apartment into Antarctica. It doesn't bother me."
Xiumin smiled weakly and traced little circles on Chen's cheek.
"Why don't you start making out?" Luhan said, rolling his eyes.
"Shut up, Deer." Chen said, not taking his eyes off Xiumin. Xiumin giggled.
"Thanks for thanking me." Lay suddenly snapped. He stood and stumbled, nearly falling. Baekhyun reached out a hand, but Lay slapped it away and walked out the door. He made it to the kitchen doorway when he had to stop. He swayed on the spot, his vision blacking again. He fell to the floor just as Kris came in.
