A Usual Morning

The next day I woke up to my phone's alarm blaring in my ear. I sat up and Tikki was holding it, smiling brightly.
"Wake up, Marinette!" Tikki exclaims. "Your late! Again!" It was almost funny to her how late I always was.
"Ok, ok, I'm up, I'm up." I half smile still partly asleep. I get ready and grab my jacket and purse.
" Wait, Tikki! I've got to write about yesterday in my diary!" I say and grab my box holding the book.
"Why didn't you write about it yesterday?" Tikki questioned.
"Homework."
Tikki giggled as I unlocked the box to my diary.
So the most awesome and funny thing happened yesterday...

When I was done writing, I closed the book and was about to put it into the box when I heard my mom's voice.
"Marinette Dupain- Cheng, where are you! You are super late!" She yelled.
I set down my diary, Tikki flew into my jacket, grabbed my backpack, and climbed down the trapdoor stairs.
"Love you mom!" I say and run down to the bakery.
I grabbed a croissant and a cookie for Tikki.
"Love you papa!" I say to my father who's baking bread.
I run out the door and into school.
"Marinette! Late again?" Miss Bustier said.
I avoided eye contact and sat down. Alya nudged me and I shrugged. Basically it was our code for "why are you late?" And "I'll tell you later." Which, to be honest, I never tell her why.
