"M'lady, don't sit here, he'll kill you," Chat said weakly. I nodded and grabbed the yo-yo. Before Sliceblade got to me Chat had knocked him down, but the Akuma sliced Chat before he hit the ground. I crawl over to Sliceblade and tie him up with my yo yo. Sliceblade was too weak to struggle.
"Now he won't." I mutter.
I crawl back over to Chat, put his head in my lap and break out in tears.
"Chat please don't leave me, I love you, you can't just do that to me!" I cry.
"Oh M'lady, all things must come to an end," Chat says smiling weakly.
"How can you smile? This is serious Chat!"
"I don't wanna spend my last seconds in mourning, neither should you M'lady." He reaches his hand up and touched my face.
"No no no, don't say that, I can still fix this!" I reach for the rope that I summoned with lucky charm. I threw it up.
"Miraculous ladybug!" I yell. But nothing happened. The rope fell back down. What? This isn't supposed to happen! It's supposed to fix everything! It's supposed to fix Chat! Maybe if I free the akuma, it'll work. I crawl over to Sliceblade and untie him. Still he was too weak to move, So I grabbed his charm and smashed it. The akuma tried to get away but I captured it. I set it free and the newly white butterfly flew away. Sliceblade transformed into a brown haired boy. He, confused, ran away. When he was out of sight, I crawled back to Chat and the rope.
"Miraculous Ladybug!" I called again. The rope came back down.
"What the heck it's supposed to work!" I say, determined.
"M'lady-"
"Miraculous ladybug! Miraculous ladybug! Miraculous-"
"Ladybug!" Chat yelled. I stopped and stared at him. "It's not going to work!"
"What do you mean? It always-"
" your earrings. They are broken." Chat says softer. I put my hand to my ears. No. No no no. I feel a crack on my right earring. When Sliceblade punched me, I must've fell on it, cracking the miraculous and damaging its magic, but not enough for me to
de-transform.
"Theirs got to be another way! There's got to!" My voice cracks as more tears stream down my face. Chat smiled dimly.
"I have a request, M'lady," he says softly. "May I see the girl behind the mask? Before I die?"
"Chat, you- your not going to die," I say, my voice still breaking. I reach for my ears and take off the earrings. I didn't want Tikki to see me- us - like this. A swirl of reds went in front of my face.
"Princess, you're ladybug?" Chat says.
"Yeah, not who you thought. Bet I'm a disappointment."
"No!" He touched my face. "never. I love my princess after all."
"If you love me, don't die. Please." I beg, and he chuckles.
"I swore to protect you, princess, and I did my job."
This can't be the end. It can't. I-no. There's got to be someway. I cry and cry until my eyes turn red. Chat reached up and held my cheek.
"I really left a pawprint on your heart, princess, didn't I? I'm so sorry I have to break it."
I held him up to me and we kissed until I felt his body go limp in my arms.
