Heyyyyyy! Sorry, I'm so late! The past few weeks have been extremely hectic. I could barely find any time to write. This week I'm also going to be crazy busy, traveling all over, but hopefully, by next week, everything will be back to normal. But I'm so excited for the next chapter, I've got a lot of things planned!!! *Insert evil laugh* And more of Liam too ;) But for now, bear with me and this crappy chapter.
Chapter Nine ~ Fred
"So what were you painting anyway?" I asked Aaron as he handed me a popsicle, orange flavored. I glanced at my arms when I took the popsicle. They were completely covered with band-aids. I looked like their polka dotted mascot for goodness sakes!
"Oh that. My little sister, Amelia, demanded that I make a pink stage for her dolls so she could create a play." He sat down next to me on the counter chairs.
"I didn't know you had a sister! That's so sweet." Grinning, I took a lick of the popsicle. "How old is she?"
"She turned seven recently."
"Adorable, is she here?"
"Um, no. She went out on a playdate with her best friend."
I nodded and looked at the beautiful vintage clock hanging on the wall beside me. It was close to the time when my mom would come home and I could NOT miss that.
"Shoot, I have to go, it's almost five and my mom will be here soon."
"Of course. Do you need me to drop you?"
"No, I'm fine, thank you. Bye," I smiled before standing up slowly and grabbing my phone, earphones, and arm band.
"Bye." I heard him whisper, almost barely catching it myself.
I walked out the door, feeling much less hurt than when I fell. My back was much better and I'm pretty sure it will all heal in a few days.
And all thanks to Aaron.
I began my walk, just thinking about him. It touched my heart when I saw how deeply he cared for his little sister. I've always wished I had a little sibling to fuss over, to tease, to play games with, or to cuddle on the couch watching Netflix. And he was quite attractive...scratch that, all those bad boys were. How on the earth had they managed to sneak into my life?
Nearing my home, I took a good look at it. It wasn't a mansion but it was really big. A small little fountain stood in the middle of the u-shaped driveway that led into our huge garage. The green grass always looked really nice with the tan brick color of our house. I took note that my mom was home since her car was in there too.
Suddenly I heard a buzz and shot a glance at a little bumble bee coming my way. I shrieked before jumping around and hobbling off, trying to evade it. I let out a breath when it flew away in the other direction. My heart beat slowly went back to its normal state.
Oh, good grief.
Sighing in annoyance, I started walking up the driveway to the garage door when I heard my name called.
"Riya..."
Oh crap, please don't be him.
I looked to the side and saw Fred, kneeling down frowning at some squished petunias. He said with a thick British accent, his long brown hair tied into a pony tail and tucked behind a dirt stained grey cap. "Did you ruin my petunias? Trying something new with all that gardening witchcraft?"
"First of all, Fred, it's called growing vegetables and second, it's probably just some bunnies!"
"Where in the world could you find bunnies in this lot? I checked everywhere!"
