Raoul

I stepped out of the carriage along with my brother Philippe. "Come on Raoul!" He called. I followed close behind as we entered the grand castle. My sisters came in last with my father. He was hunched over and used a cane to walk. We entered the bathroom to find Carlotta and Christine there with their father. I ran over to Christine and brought her into a hug. "Oh how I missed you Little Lotte." I said. She smiled at me and Carlotta rolled her eyes. "Well why don't we go out to the garden? I hear it's beautiful this time of year." Christine's father said. "Okay." My father said.

We all headed on out to the garden and me and Christine played around. We chased each other around and played just like the little kids we were inside. In the end, me and Christine were rolling around in the grass laughing till we might die. "This was a fun day Raoul." She said. We watched the sun set while the others talked. "Christine, may I ask something of you?" I asked her. She looked at me and I took her hands in mine. "I know we're just friends but I was feeling a bigger connection than just joy. I-I feel complete when I'm around you and I-I think I'm in love." She was confused at first but then her eyes lit up.

"So you mean you wanna be best friends?" She asked. I was caught off guard by her question when I just pronounced my never-dying love to her. "Um, no. I was sorta thinking of being childhood sweethearts." I explained. She tilted her head to the side. "Best friends it is." I say so she couldn't get confused even more. She brought me into a tight hug and I hugged back. I had a small crush on her but she didn't quite know. But I think that's adorable. "Raoul!" Philippe motions me over to the door. "Come look!" He said. I stood up and walked over to him. He creaked open the door to a room full of instruments. I took it all in. "Wow, it's so huge!" I exclaim. My voice echoes off the walls of the room. Philippe rolled his eyes and chuckled at me.

Christine's father peeked his head in. "Enjoying the view boys?" He asked. I looked at him and nodded. "Shall I play a piece?" The old man said. I shrugged and before I knew it, everyone was dancing. Christine and I were dancing with each other and I never felt so happy in my life. But all my sisters and Carlotta were doing, was sitting down looking at each other.

Later me and Christine were having a walk in the garden. I looked at all the roses and saw one that stood out. It was yellow with pink tips. I looked at Christine but she was distracted by the stars. I picked the rose up and carefully handed it to Christine. She looked surprised at my gift and gave me a smile.

"Thank you Raoul. That's so sweet of you." She said. She planted a kiss on my cheek and I immediately blushed. She didn't notice because she was busy admiring the flower in all it's beauty. I loved Christine. And nothing would ever change that.
