Chapter Two

Training Day

Training Gone Bad for Prima and Azure?

*Hikari Lobelia*

After the classes were over, I rushed home. Professor Stein suggested that in order to match soul wavelengths properly we must master the usage of the weapon and the connection with the meister. "Crystal! Are you ready to train?" I yell throughout the house. Crystal comes bounding down the steps, her icy blue hair held back in a ponytail. "Lets do this." She exclaims. We go to the woods beside DWMA. "Hikari. Transform!" Crystal exclaims. "Right!" I reply. I change into a gold bar with two circles at the end. Crystal attacked a tree, every time she made contact with it, fire shot out and hit the tree. Crystal stood aside. "Ouch! Your burning me!" She says after awhile into training. I change back into human form. "How did that happen?" I ask. We were doing good up until then. "Your soul wavelengths aren't in sync. A meister and weapon need to move in sync like the water. Slow and smooth." A voice says. It was Professor Maka. "When did you get here?" Crystal asks as she wipes her forehead from sweat. The sun was shining over us harshly. "Soul! Let's show them!" Maka exclaims. Soul comes out of no where and grabs Maka's hand. He changes into a red and black scythe. Maka holds the scythe tightly. She jumps up and flips. She spins around a tree and lands on the other side. Nothing happened. "What did you-?" I get cut off. The tree falls to the ground, cut apart on three different areas. The top, middle, and bottom. Soul changes back into his human form and smiles. "That was so cool!" I exclaim. Crystal was standing aside, dumbstruck. "With Soul telling me where to cut and how strong, I was able to swipe at the tree with just enough force to cut it down." Maka explains as she claps her hands together to get the dust off her white gloves. "Let's see you try again." Maka says. "Hikari. Transform." Crystal says. "Right!" I reply. I change into my weapon form. Crystal breaths deeply. I feel a tingle as I try to connect with Crystal. "Tree strength on scale 1-10. 5. Strike above middle branch." I say as I examine the tree. "Okay." Crystal says. She swings with all her might. Fire cuts through the tree. It snaps and falls to the ground with a thud. Maka claps. "That was better!" She exclaims.

*Azure*

I stood in the middle of the training field DWMA recently built. I had reserved a room for Prima and I to train. "You ready Prima?" I ask. She nods yes. Prima changes into a white sword with a blue electrical current buzzing around the blade like a small snake. Three dummies were placed before us. I pick up Prima and swing at the first one. A perfect, clean slice. The second dummy, I sliced it in half. Perfect yet again. The third dummy was a bit bigger than the other two. It was bulkier in size and actually moved from side to side and it blocked any attacks. I dash from side to side. The dummy follows me. I jump over the dummy. It spins around to face me. I swing my sword. "Come on Azure. Just one strike to kill it!" Prima exclaims as her face appears in the sword. "Okay." I mumbles. I examine it's attacks. Low swipe. Up. Kick. Low swipe. Up. Kick. I move with the attacks. Learning his actions. I swipe at it. The electrical current sizzling the fabric of the dummy slightly. I marvel at my work. That is until I notice something. The cut I made on the dummy wasn't a perfect line. "No!" I scream as I start crying on the floor. "What Azure? What happened?" Prima asks, still in weapon form. "T-the cut isn't perfect. I'm a good for nothing dirty pig!" I exclaim as I cry more. "Azure I swear to good I'm going to slap you. It's just a little cut you prick!" Prima exclaims as she changed into human form. "I'm a good for nothing pig!" I cry louder. Prima yanks me up by my white sleeved vest, creasing the black button up underneath. "Azure you are not a pig. It doesn't matter about the cut. You defeated the dummy and pass the training!" Prima yells at me as she shakes me vigorously. "O-okay." I mumble. I wipe away my tears. "Let's go to the actual moving around and attacking with real weapons area okay?" Prima says as she fixed my clothes slightly. She makes a "ewugh." noise as her hand swipes away some snot. She shakes her hand and wipes it down on her blue jean capris. Prima leads the way out and into the different arena.

"Tamaki!" I exclaim. We had just gotten out of our meeting with Professor Stein. He told us some techniques that I could possibly inherit from my mother such as Genie Hunter and Kishin Hunter. He also told us about controlling our energy into one attack and joining soul wavelengths. All that and what not. "Yeah?" Tamaki says. He stopped so I could catch up with him. "Do you think I could really inherit Genie Hunter and Kishin Hunter from Maka?" I ask. The thought of being just as powerful as my mom felt amazing. A cool chill went down my spine just thinking of defeating Aquaria. "I don't know. Possibly. Your mother was very powerful. Hopefully you can be just like her. Smart, headstrong, and independent." Tamaki says. I blush slightly but shake the thought off. "What about Kyoya. Do you think he will be just like Tsubaki? The ability to change into different forms of weapons." I ask trying to make small talk as we make our way back to the apartments. "Kyoya is strong and independent too. I bet it was Black Star who taught Kyoya the rules of assassination. I would like to learn them but it'd be a handful with all the homework and notes we have to study." Tamaki talks. His voice was smooth and steady as he spoke great things about each and every one of his friends. I listen in awe as he described Prona as courageous, Azure as a prodigy, shinigami, son of Death the Kid, Prima as friendly and good company, Kyoya as independent, Crystal as a perfectionist, Hikari as strong, himself as clumsy and shy, and me as headstrong and smart. We make it to the apartments. "I don't think the others are here." I say, gesturing to Prima, Hikari, and Crystal. The apartment was locked up and the lights were off. "You can come to the Azure and my apartment. I don't want you alone after Aquaria attacked." Tamaki mumbles the last part. "Okay. I hope no one minds." I say. Tamaki leads the way to the other apartments. It wasn't very far. Tamaki unlocks the door and opens it for me. "Thanks." I say as I walk in. The apartment was sparkling clean. The books on the shelf were separated by person. Azure's books on the left side and Tamaki's on the right. The books were, then, organized by color, size, and author. On the four rows (on each side), blue was first, then red, next green, and finally a dull brown color, like sandpaper but not quite. "Make yourself at home. Just try not to make a mess please. Azure would chew off both of our heads." Tamaki says. He walks off into the kitchen. Through the doorway, I see the small kitchen. Tamaki stood by a small fire covered by an iron covering. A green meets blue colored tea pot was on the fire. He takes out a black tray and places two white cups with green stripes on top. Once the tea was brewed, he pours it into the cups. As he walks back, happy with the results, the door bursts open and knocks the tray up so the hot tea spills on Tamaki. "Yee-ouch!" Tamaki yells as he runs around thinking of how to take the tea off. He runs into a room and slams the door shut. "I'm a good for nothing low life!" Azure whines as he shuts the door behind him softly. He sees the tea on the floor. His eyes grow big. Uh oh. "Azure before you freak out, I'll clean this. Go take a shower and relax." I say calmly. Azure takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. He walks away from the mess and into a different room. I grab some paper towels and start cleaning up the mess. "I'm going home Tamaki! Bye Azure!" I yell. I grab my things and walk out the door. I make my way hastily to my apartment. Prima was inside on the couch with a deep red bounded book and a notebook. "Hey Prima. You have a good day today?" I ask. Prima just groans before answering. "Don't even get me started!" She moans as she lays her head on the back of the couch.
