From the moment you opened your mouth
I knew you were going places
and momentous change would lie in your wake
And you had no idea that I could listen to you talk for hours, after hearing the first sentence that fell from your lips,
but I would cling to every word you granted me.
With a quiet greatness you strolled,
appreciating the beauty of the entire solar system down to the pebble lying on the pavement beneath you as you went,
while being the most beautiful thing in the world in my eyes.
Alive in a way I'd never seen,
I feared society would tarnish you,
but in that moment I determined I would do everything there was to do to prevent it.
Half in love with you after one sentence of speech
I leaned closer to memorize the ones to follow.
