There once was a boy whose eyes swam in sadness,
blue like an ocean
much like the one he was drowning in.
That ocean's placement deemed appropriate,
as he was drowning in himself.
There once was a girl whose eyes faded to gray,
as she wilted like a flower.
She wasn't just missing sunlight and water.
There once was a boy with spring green eyes,
that held the key to growth for the gray eyed girl.
The flower's roots tangling their fates together.
There once was a girl with brown eyes,
like earth.
The drowning boy reached the shore following the lighthouse that beckoned him from land.
