Purification After Childbirth
12 The Lord said🗣️ to2️⃣ Moses👴🏽, 2 “Say🗣️ to2️⃣ the Israelites👥: ‘A🅰️ woman who 🐝becomes pregnant🤰 and gives 🤰birth 2️⃣to a🅰️ son👦 will be🐝 ceremonially unclean for4️⃣ seven7️⃣ days📆, just 🅰️as she is unclean during her 📅monthly period. 3 On🔛 the eighth8️⃣ ☀️day☀️ the boy👦 is to2️⃣ be🐝 circumcised🍆✂️. 4 Then the woman must wait thirty-three3️⃣3️⃣ days📆 to2️⃣ be🐝 purified from her bleeding. She must ❎not❎ touch👆👇 🅰️anything sacred or go to2️⃣ the sanctuary💒⛪🕌🕍 until the days📆 of her purification are over. 5 If she gives birth🤰 to2️⃣ a🅰️ daughter👧, for4️⃣ two2️⃣ weeks📆 the woman will be🐝 unclean, 🅰️as during her period. Then she must wait sixty-six6️⃣6️⃣ days📆 to2️⃣ be🐝 purified from her bleeding.
6 “‘When the days📆 of her purification for4️⃣ a🅰️ son👦 or daughter👧 🅰️are 🅾️over, she is to2️⃣ bring to2️⃣ the priest🤵 🅰️at the ↩️entrance to2️⃣ the tent⛺ of 🤝meeting🤝 a🅰️ 📅year-old👴👵 🐏lamb🐑 for4️⃣ a🅰️ 🔥burnt🔥 offering 🅰️and a🅰️ young👶 pigeon🐦 or a🅰️ dove🕊️ for4️⃣ a🅰️ sin😈 offering. 7 He shall 🅾️offer them👥 🐝before4️⃣ the Lord to2️⃣ ⛏️⚒️make🛠️🔨 🅰️atonement for4️⃣ her, 🅰️and then she will 🐝be ceremonially clean from her flow 🅾️of blood.
“‘These 🅰️are the ⚖️regulations for4️⃣ the woman who gives birth🤰 to2️⃣ a🅰️ boy👦 or a🅰️ girl👧. 8 But if she 🚫cannot🚫 🅰️afford 🅰️a 🐏lamb🐑, she is to2️⃣ bring two2️⃣ doves🕊️ 🅾️or two2️⃣ young👶 pigeons🐦, one1️⃣ for4️⃣ a🅰️ 🔥burnt🔥 offering 🅰️and the 🅾️other for4️⃣ a🅰️ sin😈 offering. In this way the priest🤵 will ⛏️⚒️make🛠️🔨 🅰️atonement for4️⃣ her, 🅰️and she will 🐝be clean.’”
