You sat in the small coffeeshop and stared across the street at the large building that stood there.

Your brother was in there. He'd asked you to wait here while he quickly handled some business in the office but he'd already been gone for hours.

You were getting extremely bored of just sitting and waiting. You were munching on your third slice of cake already as you glanced down at your phone.

Even your social media was dead today. Nothing exciting was happening and your friends were barely online.

Sighing, you dropped your phone back on the table. Just as you were about to look out again, the bell at the door of the coffeeshop jingled.

You turned toward the door at the sound only to find someone barrelling towards you. He sat hastily and roughly on the chair across from you.

You jumped back, startled. It wasn't your brother. These were not the clothes he was wearing this morning.

You opened your mouth to ask who he was when he looked up. Your eyes widened and your mouth completely fell open.

Jeon Jungkook.

He was sweaty and breathing heavily like he'd been running for long. And he looked a bit like a cornered mouse as he stared back at you.

"Please don't scream." He told you. If you could scoff, you would have. You were too shocked to say anything, much less scream.

You blinked at him, mouth still agape. Suddenly, he leaned over and using his index finger underneath your chin, he closed your mouth.

You went stiff at the sudden contact. Your eyes became even wider and you were scared you would start hyperventilating.

"I need a favour." He said. You blinked again. What favour could he possibly need from you?

He glanced behind him and then outside. He was still breathing rapidly. "Could you pretend to be a couple?"

Your mouth fell open again. Did Jungkook just ask you to pretend to be his girlfriend? He repeated his action and closed your mouth as he glanced behind him again.

"I need your help, I need to get away from some people." He added pleadingly. You got the sense he'd been ambushed by sasaeng fans.

After staring for too long, you nodded, still not able to speak. "Thank you, thank you." He said gratefully.

Thinking for a moment, you gestured to his coat. He glanced down at it. "Oh," he shrugged it off, draping it over the back of the chair.

You took off your pastel blue dad hat and handed it to him. He took off his beanie and put on the hat. "Thank you." He whispered.

Just then, a group of girls ran in. They glanced around from the front. Jungkook had his back to them so only you could see them.

You sensed how tense and stiff he became when they came in. You felt really sorry for him.

You noticed the girls looking in your direction and quickly smiled at Jungkook. Then you let out a small awkward giggle like he'd said something funny.

He stared at you in surprise then he smiled a little. "Thank you," he mouthed.

The girls turned away from you. "He's not here." One of them said and they all ran out again.

Jungkook only breathed a sigh of relief when they were out of sight. Then he looked at you again. "Thank you." He said again. You nodded.

"Do you talk?" He asked. You pursed your lips before nodding again. "Then why aren't you?"

You wringed your hands together, trying to find your voice. "Nothing." You answered squeakily. He smiled a bit. "Okay." He said.

You glanced outside, both your brother and the sasaeng fans were nowhere in sight.

"You're safe now." You managed to say. "Yes, I guess I am." He smiled again. "I-" the buzzing of a phone cut him short.

He glanced behind him and took his phone out of his coat. He stared at it for a moment then he looked back up at you.

"Sorry to cut our date short but I have to go." He told you. You stared at him confused. Date?

He smiled again and picked your phone off the table. You watched him as he punched some numbers in. His phone started buzzing again.

"Now I have your number so I can call you." He stated. You just gaped at him as he got on his feet. "See you later, girlfriend." He grabbed his coat and turned away.

Girlfriend? You gawked at the back of his head as he walked out of the coffeeshop.

Your brother walked in at the same moment. You smiled at him then looked outside again to try and catch a glimpse of Jungkook. But he was gone.

"I'm so sorry Y/N. I took too long." Your brother apologized. "It's okay." You told him. It was more than okay.

"Let's go." You said, standing up. You were picking up your phone when you noticed the red beanie on the table.

Jungkook left with your favourite hat. And left you something of his.

Smiling to yourself, you grabbed it and followed your brother out of the coffeeshop. This turned to be the most interesting day after all.
