The azure splashes of water arose and burst in the air, throwing smaller droplets onto the coping where the two girls were warming up.

"I don't think this is a good idea..." Kyoko said in a whisper as she glanced down at her one piece swimsuit which wrapped her body tightly.

"It's alright, look, nobody will tell you apart from a swimmer." Aoi reassured, smiling genuinely. She then narrowed her eyes and shielding her mouth with her palm, said quietly into Kyoko's ear, "Besides, if you don't mention it, we might as well get away with this." She laughed, patting Kyoko's shoulder.

Kyoko's lips stretched a straight line and her eyes widened momentarily as her cheeks flashed red. "You may have a point there." She sighed, a small smile curved on her face. Thanks to the ankle injury Kyoko received during her training with Tsakamura Mei, she was unable to continue her training for a short while. In the meantime, however, she managed to grow slack and needed to warm up badly.

"I don't feel like swimming though." Kyoko bent her brows and poked her bottom lip out as she ran her eyes over the shimmering blue pool of Samezuka Academy.

"You don't have to." Aoi waved her off. "Let's get to stretching then." She grinned, putting her hands on her waist.

"Yosh!" Kyoko nodded. The two stood back to back and linked their arms together. Aoi bent over, letting Kyoko's feet float over the ground, then brunette did the same and they kept switching.

"Feels like I'm in middle school." Kyoko giggled softly.

Aoi snickered, shooting her a glance over her shoulder. "This is optional, but I don't know how'd you handle the actual stretching for swimmers." She poked her tongue out.

"Oh.." Kyoko cocked a brow. "Then I'm putting up a play right here?" She wondered.

"Pretty much." Aoi said quieter, persuading Kyoko to talk in the same tone. "We just have to pretend that you're a part of Iwatobi swim club."

"I see. Not sure how much of a good actress I am, but my best friend used to be back in middle school." Sapphire eyes pinned to the ceiling thoughtfully. "Hey, Aoi, is there anyone you're close with here? I mean, from what I see Samezuka is lacking in girls."

"True. Even my roommate's a sneaky bitch though. She wouldn't mind hurting me physically."

"Mei..." The name swam through both of the girls' minds. Frowns rolled on their faces from the memories of their ill-wishers.

"Anyway, so you don't make friends with girls inside the school? What about your best friend, Aoi, what does she or he do?" Brunette pried.

"My best friend's name is Shizuka, I call her Shizu'. She used to be an outstanding swimmer." Aoi chanted with a weak smile. "She passed away two years ago." She added, her voice was muffled sullenly.

"I didn't know, I'm really sorry.." Kyoko uttered bitterly. She never meant to remind her of hurtful memories. "It's just that, you know, ever since I came here to Japan, I haven't been able to meet much people. I got rather excited when I met you. To think of it, you're Makoto's girlfriend and my classmates twin! That's crazy!" She brushed the subject off, trying to shape a more solemn atmosphere.

"To think that Rinrin has a girlfriend of this kind. How do you even put up with that guy?" Aoi asked jokingly. She was a little disappointed to have heard nothing about her friend's love interest. But now was a good time to find out.

Thinking that she had done enough of the elementary warming up, Kyoko decided to move her sluggish limbs for they had nearly gone numb from the lack of training.
