Kimori Kyoko's POV *gasps all around*
(I usually stick with one person's POV ALL the time XD)
I board the plane to New York. I'll be training in America at a special gymnastics school that prepare the world's best gymnasts for the Olympic games. I smile sadly. This feels so bittersweet.
I glance at the goodbye gifts in my hand luggage. A huge book, an MP3 player and a box of tissues. As I settle in my seat I run my fingers over the book's spine; opting to wait until the flight attendants finish explaining how to be safe on the plane before opening the book so it looks as if I am paying attention to the flight attendants.
As my ears stop ringing after take off I begin to wonder about what my friends are doing right now. I wonder if they're on their way to my place. I wonder if they have realised that I'm not going to be there to answer the door. I wonder if Nagisa is still sobbing. I wonder if Rin's still fighting his sadness despite how emotional everybody got- par king of stoicness Haru. I wonder if Makoto's still holding the crying Aoi in his arms.
"You can only open your gifts when you're in the air so there's no way you can pull any of that 'THE PLANE'S MISSING IT'S FALANGE' stuff like Rachel did in F.R.I.E.N.D.S." Fubuki-kun's words echo in my head. I smile, shifting the hardback book onto my lap.
'Dear Kimori Kyoko. This book is a gift to go along with what is of the MP3 player. Please put headphones in. And please don't cry. Sorry that this is cheesy.' It doesn't say who wrote that. I frown, finding the MP3 player; it's magenta, my favourite colour. I put the headphones in and press play.
"Is it on?" Aoi's voice echoes in my ears. "It is? Awesome! Come on guys! Let's put the music on!"
"On it!" Suzuki Ami's chimes.
A Nickleback song begins to play.
"Look at this photograph, everytime I do it makes me laugh. How did our eyes get so red." Mikoshiba Mei chirps.
"And what the hell is on Nito's head!" Fubuki-kun snorts.
"HEY!" the lachrymose boy sulks.
I hiccup, looking at the photos.
"And this is where I grew up." Kaito sounds sad as he sings.
"Think the present owner fixed that up." Aoi adds.
They're singing along! Mei, Fubuki, Nito', Kaito and Aoi too.
I flick through the pictures as the friends I made from Samezuka Academy have organised in accordance with the lyrics in the song.
There were pictures of each of everybody. They judged my speed of looking too. Oh wow.
Tears spill from my eyes as the song ends.
"Hey Kyo'. I would reccomend having tissues." Aoi says.
"HEY! No fair! You said I could go first!"
"Woahh!" Sounds like Mei just shoved Aoi away.
"Hey Kyoko! It's Mei-chan! I'm so jealous! I can't wait to chasde the Olympics. You can't take the swimmer out of this girl. I'll see you in NYC at the 2018 Games. Make us proud Kyoko!" I turn the page and see a collage of photos of Mikoshiba Mei. It's a hand made collage! These were all cut out from photos that they took.
Mikoshiba Mei at the park, at the pool, her party, at the theme park and the selfie she took before we went mountain cycling with Makoto-kun, Aoi and Fubuki-kun. In the centre of the collage in gold scrawley writing is 'Mikoshiba Mei' in English and on the next page is a letter saying what had been recorded. Most likley so I would be able to see her words too.
