Late night texts [Jungkook x Reader]

"Okay, jokes aside. Have you eaten already?"

Silence.

W h a t j o k e ?

"Wh-What do you mean by jokes aside?" You nervously smiled at him.

"Uh, me thinking of you as a women?" Jungkook raised an eyebrow. Probably because he really thought you meant it as a joke.

Ouch. OUCH.

You squinted your eyes, looked in the distance and made a weird wheezing sound. "Sometimes I ask myself why I'm even friends with you. You're kind of stupid."

He frowned and looked at you with the most offended look. "I was just asking you if you have already eaten. Why does that make me stupid, idiot?"

"I really can't tell if you're acting that dumb... Seriously I'm talking about the thing with you being in love with me! And yes I had chicken." You sighed and went through your hair with frustration.

He rolled his eyes. "Do you even realize how awkward it is to talk about that?"

"Well you don't act like you're feeling uncomfortable when talking about it! And by the way it was a serious question, not a joke!" You bit your lip, waiting for Jungkook to answer.

He clearly didn't know what to say.
"Wh-what.. y-you don't feel uncomfortable when talking about this? Y/n I-I've known you since we were children, how can I possibly fall for y-" "Then how come I was your crush once? Why can't you see me as a women? What makes me so different from other girls?

Jesus i should calm down.

Am I just not your type or am I too ugly? I may not look like IU but does that mean I have no chances?!" You exhaled.

Crap.

Jungkook was taken aback and stared at you.

"You sound ridiculous.. haha. I was just so naive back then.. You're my best friend, that's what makes you different and no you're not ugly.. hah" He fake laughed. "Y-y-you sound like you're actually in love with me when-"

You couldn't control your feelings anymore.

"So what if I am in love with you?! Are you going to hate me then?!"

Your eyes widened and you gasped.

Not even after a second you realized what you just said. You literally kind of just confessed to him.

You felt your face heating up. Looking at Jungkooks face now was impossible. You covered your face with your hands. Jungkook however stayed silent.

You suddenly stood up and looked up at the night sky.

Jungkook still didn't answer.

"You know, maybe it would have been better if you just never texted me that night." You said.

The moon was hiding between big clouds. Cicadas hiding in the bushes and cars in the distance could be heard. It was like Jungkook wasn't there, that's how quiet he was.

"You don't have to answer me Jungkook. I'm just going to go now. I ruined this reunion by saying weird things." You turned away from the swings and just when you took a step Jungkook finally said something.

"You're incredibly dumb. Like really, really dumb to this level I can't even relate to.
I could never, ever hate you. I don't have one single valid reason to do that. I don't regret texting you. And... I'm not sure how I feel about you, having feelings for me but it's not bugging me at all. If you go right now I'll feel like crap."

You heard him getting up from the swings and approaching you from behind.

"I seriously want to cry now. I made things so awkward I want to punch myself so hard and rip out my hair and-"

"Shut up and just let it out.." Jungkook grabbed you by the shoulders and turned you around so you were facing him. He intensely looked at you. His gaze made you blush and you looked towards the ground. You still felt him staring at you.

"I won't stop until you surrender." He said in a serious tone.

The ground and Jungkooks shoes started becoming blurry and slowly after you felt tears dripping down your face.

"I'm sorry y/n. I wish I would've noticed. Maybe I wouldn't have friendzoned you this much." He wiped away your tears with his sleeves.

"I wish I could just fall for you right now."

That sentence made you cry even harder and soon you found yourself sobbing in Jungkooks embrace.

"You're the worst." You whispered as you hugged Jungkook tightly.
