The Wicked Luna

Seventeen

In the early hours of the morning I am attacked.

The intruder wraps their clammy hands around my ankle and pulls at me, tugging me out of my bed.

I awake in a frenzy at first shutting my eyes and trying to wrestle my limb back. When I hear the hearty chuckle of Chris I scowl and bare my teeth snarling at him. Cockily he tilts his head a sadistic smile melted on the face countless girls have fallen for. Even I have fallen for that face.

"Come on Lilith you don't want to have any morning fun?" There is a sarcastic point about his tone and I bite my cheeks till blood fills my mouth.
"No" I growl "not with you."

He pretends to frown and dramatically places his hand on his chest. Then he quickly snaps out of it lowering down so that his body is towering over me. Those slick hands dance on the pattern of my silk dress. Running over the green jade colors and up my body.

I quickly snatch the hand away extending my claws until they sink into his flesh.

"I didn't come here to sleep with you Chris" I say snappily " I came to solve a matter that involves the packs."
"Shame" he says playfully " I thought we could go back to old times."

I shake my head and push at his chest motioning to the door. He rolls his eyes and walks towards the golden doors, winking at me before leaving.

Like a slinking panther my feet glide down the marble floors. I twist and turn frowning deeply because of the layout of the mansion. It was originally built to confuse those who competed in Chris's games and I grit my teeth in irritation as I walk around like a drunk idiot.

I continue to walk in what seems like circles until finally I plop down on the ground. I place my head on my knees and groan loudly waiting for someone to come guide me around. Soon enough a servant taps my shoulder and helps me up politely smiling but otherwise not uttering a word. She leads me to a blood red door and pushes it open motioning for me to go in.

Around a large round table sits the Alphas of our lands. I spot Cassius and his brother Carden eerily silent. Besides them sits Chris who is scowling at Alpha Kace. The only one who is trying to uphold a conversation is Alpha Scarlet who politely asks questions to Cayson. He answers her questions lowly squeezing at his arm uncomfortably.

"Ardon isn't here?" I demand getting the attention of everyone "what about the other Alphas?"
"They have things to attend to" Kace says cockily pursing his lips.

I scowl at him like Chris.

"Come sit Lilith" Scarlet says sweetly patting the spot between Cayson and her.

I awkward cross over sitting on the velvety chair before crossing my legs. The room remains silent for a hot minute before Cayson breaks it.

"So what are we to do?"

All heads snap over to him and a sort of anxiety rises in me. I didn't  want Cayson to be deeply involved in this danger. I wanted him to sit on the outskirts, knowing the information and nothing else.

"Do you think there is any chance to save it?"
Scarlet whispers making a constricted tension erupt into the air.

Chris shakes his head angrily, Kace purses his lips, Cassius and Carden pass each other a look but remain silent.

"We aren't going to save it" Chris finally barks " I don't care for it's excuse."

Scarlets honey brown eyes flare and a glum look passes through her expression.

"Well you've killed people Chris! Why shouldn't he or she get a second chance?"

His sea green eyes turn to icy chips as he stares at her. Perhaps burned a glare into her skin would be a more appropriate term.

"Guys" I bark " I don't think the beast is an innocent creature."

Begrudgingly Scarlett nods her head crossing her arms over her body. She nods her head and slightly smile as the curls on her head bob up and down.

"I think it's an Alpha" Carden finally says a low rumble coming with his words. Shocked everyone's eyes snap over to him for a more detailed explanation.
"Think about it" he murmurs " the beast somehow knows the right places to attack. The places that are closer to the woods. The places that he can secretly sneak into and leave with enough time."

I nod my head leaning back on the velvety chair. The soft material soaks into my neck and I close my eyes visualizing the attacks. All were secluded with an easy escape route. Most outside packs didn't know about the secluded areas of my pack. I only showed visitors the city and my home.

"Seems reasonable" I snap "but why would it go after innocents? What does it want?"

Silence seemed to be only conversation at that point. The silence began to gnaw at my insides a devastating fear spreading through me. The silence began to become a gaping void that needed to be filled with any sound. I wanted someone to breathe heavily or to hear a pencil make contact with the wooden table. Anything to distract me from the answer I'm not wanting to hear.

Because it can is what I'm expecting. That a rabid animal is running loose and killing people for the hell of it. The silence in the room clung to my skin like a poisonous skin, paralyzingly me from the thought of the psychotic monsters reasons. Then Cayson begins to speak and I have to clutch my thigh to breathe. Like the suspended moment before a piece of glass shatters I hold my breathe waiting for the shards.

"It wants something from you Lilith" he whispers.

I know, I wanted to say. I already know it wants me dead.

Lmaoo most of the Alphas have a 'C' or 'K' in their name. How did you enjoy this chapter? Sorry I haven't written in a while school is draining me.

Also is my plot being confusing? I can fix it if it needs. Just comment if your confused.
