After Erica left to go upstairs I made my way to the living room to find
Chaz. I saw him out back through the sliding glass patio doors. He
was outside smoking a cigarette. I opened the door and slipped out,
shutting the door behind me. “Hey Chaz” I said Erica seems super
nice. How long have you known her and David?
Well David has always been like a big brother to me. He is about
8 years older than I am but he has always looked out for me. He and
Erica have been together for as long as I remember they started
dating in junior high and have been together since. They have always
been here for me when I need them. Hell they have bailed me out of
jail, put clothes on my back, and David even helped me buy that car. I
haven’t always had the best relationship with my parents. I mean we
do okay for the most part now but it hasn’t always been that way. We
have definitely had our differences about things. So every time my
mom’s would kick my ass out, I came here and stayed with David. I
don’t know where I would be without those two to be honest he
stated. They are great people and they will help just about anyone
who needs it. After I got kicked out of school last year it was David
who convinced me to transfer schools and go back and finish my
senior year. I really didn’t want to, I would rather spend my time with
the band but David made some valuable points. So my dad pulled
some strings and got another school here in phoenix to let me in. But
if I fuck up this time I’m screwed, they have made it quite clear I am
getting no more second chances. So I’m going to take my ass back
this week and try to keep my ass on track so I can get this shit over
with. “So you’re a senior” I asked. Yep hopefully I will only have to do
one semester before I graduate. Believe it or not despite me getting
myself into trouble all the time, I’m actually pretty damn smart. I
shouldn’t have any problem graduating half term unless some
motherfucker gets on my shit list and I get into trouble again.
Which high school did you go to” I asked Him
Well I went to Greenway High School, until I got myself kicked
out that is. He repliedHow did you manage that” I asked
“Um that’s kind of a long story” he said. I will explain it to you
some other time he continued avoiding the question completely.
Okay I thought maybe it is something bad and he just isn’t ready to
talk about it.
“You didn’t kill anyone did you” I said to lighten the mood. He
busted out laughing.
“No, Roxie I didn’t kill anyone” replied while still laughing.
Although maybe I should have.
“So what school are you going to go to now?” I asked.
“Washington high school” he replied and my eyes lit up.
“Omg, Chaz are you serious” I screamed out.
Yes, I’m serious why? He asked looking lost
Because I go to Washington high school” I said excited. We are
going to be in the same school. Except I’ll probably never see you
because I am only a sophomore, but still that’s awesome.
Chester’s face dropped suddenly. What’s wrong Chaz? I asked
concerned.
Your only 16? He questioned. I thought you were like 17 or 18. I
mean it’s not a big deal I just really thought you were older than 16 is
all, it surprised me when you said that he laughed a smile now back
on his face. Anyways do you want to go inside and watch a movie?
David will probably let us rent one.
‘Sure” I said. And we went inside.
