Chapter 16

The lodge

Miranda's pov

I can't believe Willie Robertson is my dad! That's like the coolest thing ever. "Where are we going?" I ask him as he drives us somewhere. He doesn't answer. I look over at him. He looks like he's trying not to cry. "Dad... Are you okay?" I ask worried. "I'm okay, dad really." I say gently putting a hand on his arm. "I.... I accidentally shot you. It's my fault you don't remember anything." "It was an accident! I'm not mad!" I gasp shocked. We pull up at the E3. There was a jeep, a bronco, and an off road vehicle. "Who all is here?" He coughs, trying to cover up crying. I wish I knew what to say to help him. "Your uncles." He says shakily.

Tombo's pov

Poor Willie is such a mess. He blames himself for everything. I open the door as they get out. Miranda skips to the door, Ber head still wrapped in bandages, her hair had to be shaved. "Hey Tombo!" She says waving. "Hey kiddo." I say. "Why is everyone so upset?" She asks glancing back at Willie. "I'm fine." "We're just worried about you, sweet girl." "Well it isn't everyday you wake up and find out your dad is Willie Robertson!" She runs inside energetically. "It is for you though." I say sighing.

Jason's pov

I finish my third cup of coffee as Miranda runs in. Hunter stands up, worried. "Guys don't be upset I'm okay." She says, sitting beside Luke at the bar. "You don't remember us." Adam says, shaking his head with a sigh. "OK you might not remember us. But do you remember him?" Korie says, pointing behind her.

Miranda's pov

Huh? "Who?" I turn around and my eyes go wide. What a cutie! "No... I don't remember." I say. I wave slightly, my face getting hot. Mom puts a hand on my shoulder. "He's your boyfriend, Hunter." "Hey Hunter." I say, shyly. "Um he's deaf. You learned sign language to talk to him." Oh. "I... I don't know it anymore. What do I do?" "We'll figure it out sweety." Dad and Tombo walk in. "Hey everyone how's it going?"

*later*

Willie's pov

I got back from hunting and saw Hunter crying on the porch. I sit beside him worried and tap his shoulder. He looks up signing, "She doesn't remember me either." "We can't give up." I sign back. "Most people don't wanna bother with a deaf kid. What if she doesn't care anymore?" "She does." Just then everyone else gets back from hunting too. We won't give up. I won't give up. We'll get her memories back.
