Chapter eight: Party games 🎲
Ryder insisted on me starting the game, so I spun the bottle. It landed on Ace, he grinned and leant back. "Well, well, well. Monroe, got a date for me?" Ace teased, he was actually extremely handsome... as I believe I have said before.
"Okay..." time to bring out the other side of me, "I dare you to write the name of the most attractive person in the room on my back. By the end of the night, you have to have kissed them. Boy or otherwise." I smirked. Ace raised his hands and left the room in search of a pen, Ryder suggested the kitchen. Ace came back a few seconds later and sat behind me. He hesitated before lifting the back of my shirt and scribbling something down.
"Cool. Ace's spin." Ace got back into his spot and spun the bottle round. It landed in front of Landon. He looked up at Ace, well... this isn't going to go well. Boy on boy competition.
"Landon, Landon, Landon..." Ace began, I giggled at his failed impersonation of a businessman - his lips were puckered and his hands were connected, wrapped around his knee - "I dare you to French kiss Shannon." Shannon groaned.
"Seriously, that's the best you have?" She said. I was forced to watch Landon and Shannon lip lock in front of me for a solid three minutes. I counted. Basically.
Everyone cooed and clapped them as they parted, both looking a little flushed. I grinned and raised my eyebrows suggestively at Shannon, she slapped my arm and rolled her eyes. Looking away from me.
Landon spun then and it landed on Ryder. Apparently, Landon was one for the up close and awkward sort of dares and trust me. That was true.
"Ryder, get under the sheets with Alex." He winked at me, I was ready to protest when someone did it for me.
"Come on guys, she's new to us. Do we really wanna drive her away with our sick taste in amusement?" Ace said. Ryder shrugged and grabbed my hand, no he wasn't, "RYDER BRO! Come on!!!" Ace shouted after him. He didn't listen, he was stone faced as he lead me to the door of my room and threw me down on the bed.
"Ryder please don't." I said weakly. He paused, looked at me shocked, and then stepped back.
"You really think I'd do that to you?" He said, genuine concern plastered all over his face, "You are aware that your my friend right? I wouldn't hurt you."
I fell backwards and let out a deep breath, "thank you." I repeated over and over.
The bed dipped beside me and I turned my head to see Ryder lying on his back too, "Listen, this thing that I need to ask you..." he began, fiddling with his hands. Oh no, he wasn't. Too soon, too soon...
"Ryder I do-" he interrupted me.
"Let me finish," he said strictly, "I want to make a Bargain with you. Now hear me out." I remained silent, "I get that you don't like people and you have never really had friends but all I ask, in return for giving you the best semester of your life, is that you let me have one thing. It can be anything, I can ask it whenever and you must consider it."
I paused for a moment. This was odd, "Why do you want that?"
"Because... I want to keep our friendship interesting. The idea of having you around my little finger is pleasing to me." He smiled, I chuckled.
"Ryder Moore, it is probably the weirdest proposal I have ever heard. However, I- don't know if I accept your Bargain." I said softly. He purses his lips for a moment before nodding. I smiled back.
"Can I see what Ace wrote on your back, he's my bestfriend he tells me everything anyway." He said. I nodded after thinking for a moment.
I sat up and listened to Ryder's breathing. It picked up as he lifted my shirt but it slowed incredibly fast upon him reading it. He, to my shock, dragged a finger along my back and coughed. "Sweet." He said quickly, "come on let's get back. They'll be expecting us."
We came back into the room and everyone looked at us, Shannon and Ace looking at us with concerned stares. I smiled at them and sat down. Me and Ryder said nothing.
The game lost its vibe. Ryder seemed out of it, Ace was pissed at Landon for some reason and Shannon was complaining that she was bored and needed more drinks. We all ended up in the kitchen drinking some more of what Ace bought with him. We took vodka shots, had some more beer and also drank some tequila.
Shannon and Foster got a bit excited and Shannon insisted that Foster take a shot off her. I watched disgusted, as she giggled and grinned at Foster. Landon stood in the corner shaking his head at them but smiling nonetheless.
I left after a while, I felt a little queasy. To be honest, these are my first drinks so I wasn't used to the alcohol. I rounded the hallway and ran straight into the bathroom, I was hovering over the toilet bowl when I felt someone grab my hair and lift it up. "First time drinking?" Ace, it was Ace.
I nodded but before I could say yes, my stomach churned and everything I had consumed drained from me. The sound was disgusting, a large belch. I was surprised Ace stuck around.
After a few more minutes of gagging, I began to feel better so I rose to my feet. "You shouldn't drink Vodka if it's your first time. Number one rule..." Ace said as I washed out my mouth.
"Thanks for telling me that now." I smiled at him and laughed. "Hey can you pass me that mirror." I asked. He pointed to a small mirror on the window sill and I nodded.
"Why?" He asked, I rolled my eyes and held my hand out, "No, I'm not giving it to you until you tell me why." He repeated, smirking.
"Because I want to see what name you wrote on my back, I can reflect it in the other mirror." I said sweetly, grinning at him.
"No. It's still a secret until I've kissed them." He said simply, "you dared me." He pointed at me.
"Okay well... I give you permission to just tell me. Doesn't bother me if you complete the dare or not." I stuck my hands out and moved closer to him to hear who it was.
"Oh my god, it was a guy wasn't it?" I stated, smiling. There isn't anything wrong with it. "Which gu-" before I could say anything, I was cut off.
By Ace's lips.
