Chapter twelve: "I'm coming home" 🎤
The ride home was unusual. Ryder has taken to picking me up and dropping me off. You know, considering that we go to the same school and we are living together until further notice. Anyway, back to the ride home.
Ryder was basically launching compliments my way, constantly touching my hair and at one point he touched my fucking thigh. I pushed him away instantly.
"Ryder. What is your problem!?" I shouted, making him jump, "Why are you touching me. Why all of a sudden have you decided to start touching me? Huh?"
I was angry, confused and very, very tired. Ryder has been messing with me all week since the small party. I can't stand it anymore.
"What?" He said, "I don't think I have any particular problem... I just, you know." He shrugged, smirking.
"No. Ryder, I don't know. Enlighten me you dick." I spat, "I get it. You are a sex driven teenage boy, but I'm your friend. Not your booty call!" He pulled up into his drive and I stormed out. I noticed my fathers car in the driveway and I burst into a full blown sprint.
I knew what was up. He wanted sex, but I'm not like that. I have always sort of, opposed it? I guess. I wasn't raised by nuns up until I was adopted, I just haven't really had any sort of relationship or drive - to be honest - to have sex.
Well, until- nope. Ace and Ryder are out of the question. Ryder is an absolute asshole and Ace is Ryder's bestfriend.
"Dad, mom!" I shouted as I ran through the doors. My parents were sitting on the sofa with James perched beside them. James took one look at me and threw himself onto me. I laughed and hugged him close.
"Hey Jimbo." I said softly, he giggled and nuzzled his head into the crook of my neck.
"Sweetie, listen here." I looked to my father. Something was up. They weren't smiling, more like they were frowning. Did I do something wrong?
Beth was perched on the edge of her seat, her mouth pursed. A sour look on her face. Ryder walked in shortly after, making his way to his room. "Ryder, hunny!" Beth shouted, "please stay here. We will need you." She smiled sadly at me. I sat back.
"Baby... you know we love you. You and James are our world. I can't explain how much better our lives became since you've been in it." Oh god, "but... the thing is. You know we have never been fully there with money." I nodded and smiled at her reassuringly, "until now."
I smiled. That was a good thing wasn't it!?
"But. The money is 6,332 kilometres away from home. In Sweden." I paused.
"What, so we are moving?" I asked. That was sort of exciting wasn't it? I mean, new house, new country, new friends.
"What!? You are moving away!?" Ryder shouted, I glared at him. He doesn't get to shout at my parents.
"Ryder. Be quiet." Beth hissed. Thank god for his mother otherwise this boy would be out of control.
"We are. You are not." Ian said softly, Daisy smiled at me with sad eyes. I glared at her with anger filled ones. "We are still your legal guardians, you are still our little girl..." he tried to amend it but failed. I made him fail.
"No. I'm not. You aren't my parents, you never have been. Thanks for the twelve years of love and compassion. I won't forget them. You may go now." I spat and stormed off to my room. So what? They were going to ship me back to the centre. I'm not a legal adult yet, I can't care for myself.
What was I meant to do? I can't go back. There wouldn't be much point considering I am eighteen in a few months time. I threw myself onto the bed and cried into my pillow. What else was I meant to do?
After a few hours, I'd concluded that Beth had told people to stay clear of me. I admired her for that instinct, something Daisy never had. She didn't get that I needed my space. Though, I suppose having two teenagers with a year between them taught you a thing or two about respecting privacy. Especially with Ryder and his... ways. Shudder.
My phone rang, I checked the ID and smiled. I could really use a friend right now. Ace was calling. I answered the phone. Not realising how hoarse I sounded until I cracked out a small "Hello?"
"Damn Monroe. You don't sound so good?" He let out a sharp laugh, "Well, I know you probably aren't doing so well anyway. Ryder told me."
"Oh." I nodded, even though he couldn't see me.
"Listen, originally, before finding out about the incident.." it sounded like a question, "I was going to see if you wanted to join me at the movies?" He asked. I smiled.
"The movies?" I asked.
"Yes." He growled. Someone was tired.
"I'd love to. What movie?" I asked timidly.
"Well, we can either watch Annabelle 2 or..." the line was silent for a moment, "baby driver?"
I thought about it for a moment, "Annabelle 2 sounds good..." I smirked at Ace's small whimper. Nevertheless, he texted me shortly after dropping the line confirming that he'd ordered some tickets.
I was still down about the whole Sweden thing but... this was some sort of light in my life.
Was it a date?
Was it just a friendly thing?

Heyaaaa!! I'm back with the author messages, listen, if you are a little confuzzled about the whole suddenly moving the Sweden thing. I'll explain it.
Basically whilst Ian, Daisy and James were on their business trip. They were given an opportunity to earn more money and because they are not the best with money they took it. After thinking about it and considering the fact that they can't take Alex with them... they still accepted. Thinking about their young son.
So. What do you think of the Monroe's?
