Steele pours two cups of coffee. Then adds some cream and sugar. "It's gotta be just right." He said stiring both cups. As he turns and hands me my cup I breath out; "Well... As Guardians of the Moon pack's Alpha and to my knowledge the last living member there is a lot going on right now." He nods, so I continue. I end up telling him the whole story about the last week of my life and what lead up to it. We were about halfway through our second cup when Ember and Remmy came back.

"Whatcha guys doing?" Remmy asked, coming up to Steele and kissing him then turning to me. "I'm Remmy. Steele's mate and Embers best friend. And if you so muc..." Ember cut her off. "She almost lost her life defending me and being a pawn in dad's stupid game. We are mated, she has marked me and loves me more than anything else." She growled, Alpha rumbling in her chest. Remmy nodded, showing apology. "Well besides coffee." I chuckled raising my cup and tapping it with Steele's. Ember elbowed me in the gut. "Ouch easy I'm still healing. I'm only joking baby." I said setting my cup down and wrapping her up in my good arm, kissing her forehead. We were talking, I was getting to know Steele and Remmy when everyone stopped. I look around room then meet Ember's gaze. "Alpha is ready for us." She said.

We left and immediately headed towards his office. The door was closed, Ember approached and knocked. A deep gruff voice called out; "Enter." Ember pushed the door open to reveal a much smaller office than my pack house had, but just as organized. Books covered the shelves; origins, traditions and stuff like that. The desk scattered with papers and reports. We walked over to the sitting area, two couches facing each other. "Hunter." He said starring at me, as if he was looking for something. "What do you plan to do now that you are a rogue with no pack and no home?" I could feel Ember tense at those words. My hand rested calmly on her thigh. "Alpha of the Fire of Life pack. I request asylum with your pack for a couple of months while we plan our next move." I said in an even tone. The Alpha looked at me, he looked me up and down. "Well you did hold your own against several of my warriors and you protected your mate well enough." A small smirk tugged at his lips. "What would your station be? What do you think you deserve?"

He was trying to bait me. "The decision is ultimately yours Alpha. I can be a visiting Alpha with my Luna while we plan our next move. Or I can be your younger Alphas Luna until we take our leave. At which point I will depart as Alpha of the Guardians of the Moon pack." He walked around pondering my words. Ember was fidgeting uneasy next to me. She went to stand, to confront her father. I held her to a seated position and linked her; "Don't respond, he shouldn't be able to hear my link to you but any link you have he could possibly hear." She nodded in agreement. "We just need to bide our time. Until we can gain alliances and develop a plan of attack. I will abide by whatever he decides and we will perform in our station until the time comes." She nods. I squeeze her hand and smile. "I'll be your Luna if that's what it takes." That brought a smile to her lips and she relaxed a little.

The office door opened and his Beta walked in. "Alpha you called me." He said, bowing his head. "Yes. We have to decide what to do with this rogue and her mate. She seems strong and handles her own. But what station will she have here." He pauses. "Visitor or Luna to my younger Alpha." He walks back towards us. I stand tall and meet his stare. The Beta goes to move but he motions him to stay. He stands toe to toe, much taller in human form but I will not back down. "You can call yourself what you want but your a rogue and hold no Alpha status in my house." I growled low, I couldn't help it. "Is that a challange?" He scoffs. His Beta stands next to me, glaring.

I calm myself; "You were coming to my pack for assistance. You believed in what my old Alpha was doing and stood for." "Yes until he got himself and his pack killed. Not to mention endangering other packs. We found a way to protect ourselves and I will not have some rogue jeopardise that on hopes and wishes." He turns throwing his hands, mocking me. Ember jumps to my side, growling. "Heed your place." He turns growling loudly. Ember stopped but did not submit. "So what will it be? A rogue I must kill to protect my pack or a challenger who needs to learn her place?" Ember looks at me, worry in her eyes. But as Alpha I have no choice, he chose this path I cannot back down.
