"What is happiness to you?"
"I don't know." I shrugged.
"It's hard to know what 'happiness' is, when I haven't felt it in a long time."
"Why do you think, you don't allow yourself to be happy?"
"I think of happiness like a religion. I simply just don't believe in it." I responded simply.
She nodded and continued scribbling notes on her notepad. "Carter, have you considered joining a group session? We meet every Wednesday at 1:00 pm. I think you could benefit from being in a group setting. What do you think?"
I shrug. "I guess." I said opened to the idea.
"Great!" She said while clapping her hands together.
"Well that about wraps up our session for today. I'll see you tomorrow at 1:00 pm?" She asked.
"Yup. Thanks Dr. Reign."

I never realized how lifeless this house was, until now. See my parents died a few years back. Car accident. They were coming back from my sisters violin recital, when a drunk driver hit them. Paramedics said they died instantly. My sister; Savv, survived, only to die later after being in critical condition. I was never the same after that day. I lost my entire world. My parents did indeed have a will. It stated that my sister and I would get everything, if something was to ever happen to them both. Unfortunately, Savv didn't make it, so I was left with everything; the house, the fancy cars and the money. But I would trade all those material things in a heart beat, just to have one more second with them.
After I took a shower, I climbed into bed and slowly drifted to sleep.
