Turning by back towards her, I take a deep breath in anticipation. "What did she tell you?" I ask curiously, turning around again. She was about to answer when the doorbell started to ring.
Shit. "Sorry," she said before exiting the kitchen. It isn't long after, I hear a female voice screaming! "WHERE IS MY SON? WHERE IS MASON?!"
I enter the living area to see a woman with caramel skin, jet black hair and fresh tears streaming down her face. Mason must favor his father, because he has no similarities to this woman as far as I can see.
"Claudia you need to breath, Mason is right here!" Carter says in a calming and soothing tone.
I watched as the woman said a silent prayer before running over to Mason and wrapping her arms around him. "God Mason, how many times do I have to tell you not to leave the house without telling an adult?!" She grabbed his hands and pulled him towards the door.
"Carter thanks for letting him come over, but next time call us when he comes over?" Carter nodded in agreement before closing the door behind the two.
"Sorry," Carter said as she tiredly came to a rest at the kitchen doorway.
"Its alright," I said glancing at her.
She nodded as if she was in a daze, "Do you still want to go out?" She asked me.
Of course I wanted to go out! Did she not know I would do anything to spend time with her.
Coming closer I rested my hands on her waist bringing our bodies together, "Only if you're up to it." I whispered in her ear.
Her entire body shivered underneath by grip. Glancing up at me, her eyes meet mine. "I want to still go." She gave me a small smile, but something in her eyes left an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. She was holding something back.
I guess we both have secrets yet to be revealed.
"Shall we go then?" I said while extending my arm for her to grab.
"We shall." Wrapping her arms around mine, we made our way to the door. I have a feeling tonight is going to be quite eventful.
