Hailey is an exchange student from New Zealand, she's moved to New Jersey for the next year. Her host family is great, but her neighbors catch her attention; Grayson Dolan. Problem is she has her boyfriend Jack back home.
We drove back into town waiting for Esther and Ethan to finish school, we needed them to know the plan because it can easily affect Ethan's career also. Grayson and I waiting in a old diner that is around the corner from where we live, Ethan texted that he will be here in five minutes.
As Esther and Ethan walk through the door they look pissed, Ethan hates it when Grayson ditches school and me, well I'm not going to be in Ethan or Esther's good books.
"So are you now together, god sakes Hailey stop messing with Grayson's head. You're a headfuck mate" Ethan blurts, I couldn't blame him for being mad.
"Hey don't speak to her like that, we need to talk about the situation" Grayson says standing up, he makes me feel so safe.
We explain the situation and Esther and Ethan hug me, Ethan also apologises for being a dick earlier.
"So what are you going to do Grayson? Just split up?" Esther asks
"I have a plan but I need to ask if you guys think it's good" Grayson says to the group
"We will not be in a relationship publicly, Jack lives in New Zealand and doesn't know anyone here it's not going to be that hard. Also I was thinking we could have a faux relationships for instagram to keep him sweet?" Grayson explains, at first I was happy with it until I realise the world is going to see the boy I like with another girl.
"GREAT IDEA!!" Esther and Ethan both agree.
"Yeah it's perfect" I say pulling a weak smile, I've been faking happiness a lot lately. I go in for a hug and Grayson dodges it.
"We're in public, we can't be hugging, or really be seen together at all." Grayson says to me.
"Grayson you should make a tweet and Hailey should message Jack" Ethan tells us.
@GraysonDolan: I deserve happiness and it's not with you :)
The tweet hurt, even though it was fake, like he could deep down mean it? I go to text Jack the news.

"Great let's get out of here, Hailey could you leave in five minutes? We can't be together" Grayson says as he leaves the diner. I'm sitting in this diner alone, it's sinking in that I can no longer be around the boy that I'm falling for. We now have to hide our relationship from everyone, we can't talk at school, be seen together, and even worse he's getting a fucking covergirl. I bet she will be prettier than me, I am a jealous person and I can already tell this is going to be a huge mess.
The Next Day
I wake up to a goodmorning text from Grayson, it was very sweet maybe we could make this work. My mood is changed from last night, the text gave me some hope. I have a quick shower, blow drying my hair and straightening it. I take time in my makeup today I really want to look cute for Grayson, since I know he can't touch me I'm going to tease the shit out of him.
I head downstairs and Grayson isn't with Ethan today, Esther and Ethan are eating her Gordon Ramsay improved waffles.
"Where's Grayson?" I ask.
"He went to school in his truck, we thought it would be best for him to go to school alone now." Ethan tells me.
I didn't let that ruin my mood, I grab an apple since I'm trying to be healthy.
When I arrive to school I go and find Brook, she's in the gym training for cheerleading. When I'm walking to the gym I see Grayson holding hands with Bayleh. Bayleh the head cheerleader, she's always been so bitchy to me since I joined the team and I had a thing with Grayson. She looks over to me and smirks, I feel anger rise in my stomach, I could punch a bitch right now. Since Grayson has a covergirl maybe I should have a coverboy too.
