Ch.23: Exploring the Castle

Ace frowns as Lucifer and he walk down a hallway with cool marble flooring and floor to ceiling windows lining the long wall on their right. Lucifer is taking Ace and Maiz to spend the day with Sage and Tempest as he has to get back to his job of torturing the damned.

"Just remember, love," Lucifer says with his arm wrapped around his sweet mate's shoulders. "If you need me for anything, all you have to do is say my name,"

Ace frowns even more. He does not want Lucifer to leave him just yet, but he understands that Lucifer is the devil himself and he has a job to do. Although, why he and Maiz have to spend the day with weird Sage is beyond him. He asked Lucifer why he couldn't explore the castle on his own and Lucifer's reply was that he still didn't trust the demons and wanted to make sure he was relatively safe until the demons can recognize who Ace is better.

"What does that mean?" Ace asks curiously as he rubs Maiz's back. The infant looks around the hallway with curious eyes. "What do you mean all I have to do is say your name?"

Lucifer smiles down at his sweet boy. "Exactly what I mean. If you need me for anything and I am not around, all you have to do is say one of my names out loud. You can call me Lucifer, the Devil, Satan, Morningstar, Leviathan, Ruler of Darkness, Ruler of Demons, Father of Lies, Angel of Light, Star, any name given to me and I will hear,"

Ace stops his walking to stare up at his older lover and mate. "How many names do you have?" He asks with wide eyes.

"Oh, hundreds," Lucifer replies with a chuckle. "I also go by Evil One, Apollyon, Abaddon, Power of Darkness, Serpent, Tempter, Wicked One, and so many more,"

"Why?"

"Well, different religions have different names for me. Take Apollyon for example. In some Greek religions Apollyon represents the Devil because it means destroyer. Same goes for Abaddon. Abaddon in Hebrew means destruction which represents the Devil as well. While majority of American's call me Lucifer, the Devil, or Satan,"

Ace blinks up at him. "What is your real name then? I mean, your first name,"

Lucifer smiles. "Lucifer was the name God gave me when he created me. Lucifer would be my first name because it was the first thing I was ever called. Lucifer Morningstar to be more precise,"

"So, what name do you prefer? Or do you not really care?"

"I have never thought of that before," Lucifer replies with a frown. "I suppose I prefer Lucifer because it was the name my father gave me. I do like the ring of Satan though," He ends with a grin.

Ace snorts. "So, I can say the name Satan and you would do what?"

"I would hear you," Lucifer says. "Although, it makes it much easier if you say it aloud. I can hear it inside your head, but it is much clearer if you speak it aloud,"

"You would hear me?" Ace asks with an eyebrow raised. "Is that another angel gift?"

"Not this one, no," Lucifer answers. "This is a gift God bestowed upon me when I took over Hell. It is so I can make sure no one tries to overthrow me. Whenever someone says my name, whether it be said here in Hell, on Earth, or even Heaven, I hear it. I can tune into a conversation to make sure no one is conspiring against me. But I am attuned to you now, Ace, meaning your voice would sound above all the other voices,"

"Do you have a lot of voices inside your head?"

"Surprisingly, no," Lucifer answers honestly. "When the Earth was first born anew, after the Great Flood, people said my name all the time. But as Earth grows older, the people just do not have as much faith and belief anymore. When I do hear my name, I usually tune in to listen because I am merely curious, but not many people believe in Heaven and Hell in this day and age. My name is usually used as a curse word now more than anything,"
