Chapter 13 - Weird

LOGAN HUNT.

Sitting on the couch, he grabbed a throw pillow and flipped it in the air.

He knew he was here for his mother. He was here because his mother loved to see the whole family hangout together.

Before Sean and Dan had their differences settled, Dan would usually just drop by, enough to just say hi and leave.

Now, they were outside laughing their ass off for God alone knows what.

"Hey babe."

He heard the familiar voice of the woman he loved to the core.

"Hey, sugar."

She was almost three months along. A month or two, and her belly would start showing.

Logan finally had what his parents had. He always wished to have a wife a number of kids and he was lucky enough to have that.

She dropped down beside him and he slapped a hand to his forehead.

"Slowly, sugar. You're pregnant."

She pursed her lips at him then snuggled in, her head resting on her shoulder, her arm around his waist.

"What is it?"

"Nothing."

Lexi didn't know that -

"Is this about that blondie following us?"

Wait. What?

"I don't know what you're talking about." He went for nonchalance but probably failed.

"You know what I hate about you." She murmured as she tilted her head up and pressed a kiss to his jaw.

"I'm scared to ask what?"

"The way you underestimate me."She pulled back.

"Remember what I told you. I'm here for you always. But we won't work if you keep hiding things from me."

He sighed. She pulled his hands at her and laced their fingers.

"I love you babe. A lot. But I need to know you do too. I'm not some girl who's gonna run away when you start sharing your problems."

"I know, sweetheart. I would've told you but this is dangerous."

"Seriously. How bad could it be?"

"He's dangerous Lexi."

"Fine. So this guy is dangerous. What could happen? Either I lose you or you lose me." He gaped in horror at her words

"I don't wanna lose you but you're already doing it. I sense the distance between us and I won't bring this kid into a world where we keep each other at arms length."

Logan was torn. She was right. She was, but if she knew that he still had her ex bodyguard trail her, she'd be angry and he didn't wanna fight at the moment.

"Let me hold you for a moment."

She snuggled right in his arms and sighed.

"Who told you about the blond guy?"

"Kayla. You know her father's a Marine. Nice man. Trained her real well. He showed me some moves too."
"So what she can just tell who's following you and stuff like that."

"Yeah. I mean. She had a bit of a something when she was a child. She's cautious ever since."

Logan shook his head. "You all are just.. weird."

"Well, you love the weird me."

"Of course I do, sugar. Wouldn't have you any other way."

Lexi pressed a hand on his chest and pushed up to kiss him. Logan sighed. He had no doubt if she'd leave him ever. She was the kind of woman who'd be there for you for the long haul.

And losing her wasn't an option. Logan had to get rid of Stan. Even though Lexi and Kayla were trained, they didn't know how to fight of a criminal who probably knew 100 ways to torture a man.

"Oh shit." She suddenly sprang up and ran towards the bathroom, Logan hot on her heels. He held her hair while she puked her guts out.

Using some mouth wash probably helped to get rid of that taste. Logan scooped her up and laid her down gently on the bed.

Laying beside her he held her as she fell asleep with her head on his chest, her legs tangled in his.

He'd do his utmost to have this with his woman for the rest of his life. No motherfucker was gonna still this from him.

He'd die before he'd ever lose Lexi.
