Phoenix's POV-
"I just can't believe he would do this to her. Again. And I can't believe that her aunt would defend that awful, sick, he shouldn't even be considered a human being." I heard Dan's voice.
"At least they took him away for good this time. He won't be able to touch her ever again, he'll be away for a long time." Said Phil.
"I just can't believe it. Who would be mental enough to maul two kids." It was Troye's voice.
What happened?
I tried to open my eyes but it was no use. It was if they had been glued shut.
"I know. I'm so glad they're both okay."
"How's your brother holding up?" Troye asked.
"We uh..we're not mentioning it to Adrian. Not yet. I told him she's fine. He blames himself. If he knew...if he knew he would..I don't know. Nothing good would come out of it." Dan said quietly.
I tried to wiggle around, it seemed to be no use.
I tried screaming. I thought it was not use until a short, breathy squeak came from my mouth.
"Did she- was that her?" Dan said, hopeful.
"I'll call a doctor." Troye said, and I heard footsteps running out of the room.
I tried to open my eyes harder and harder, slowly but surely. After what seemed like forever, my eyes opened and the brightness of the room burned my eyes.
"Oh my god." Dan and Phil said at the same time. Dan rushed to my bedside and put his hand on my arm. Phil hurried behind him, I looked at the two of them. Noticing that they were holding hands. I ignored it, and continued looking at my brother, hoping for some sort of explanation for why I was in the hospital.
A doctor came into the room, she was bright and cheerful.
"And she's up!" She said, smiling. "How is our girl doing?"
I looked at her, hoping maybe she would give me an explanation of what was happening since clearly nobody else was. She started doing all kinds of poking and prodding my arms and chest above my gown. Then she adjusted the tubes pumping meds into my arms. It wasn't until then that I started feeling pains in my stomach, the same as when I had visited the hospital just years before. I brushed it off, thinking it was only a panic attack. She hadn't said anything else until she told the boys that they would probably want to leave the room for the next part of her exam.
"It's fine," Dan said, Phil still holding his hand tightly. Troye left the room leaving the four of us alone.
I continued to try to say something until finally I croaked out a sound somewhat sounding like "happening"
"Oh hunny, there was an incident with your uh- your father." The doctor said.
"I'm going to have to take off her gown, if you could turn around?" She said to Dan and Phil.
The doctor pulled up my gown, revealing my stitched up stomach and chest. Each wound surrounded with quite black and blue bruises. The doctor checked the stitches and some of the bandaging around some of the scratches that weren't as deep.
"Do you remember what happened?" She asked. When I didn't answer she started to explain.
"You were at your, was it your aunts? Your aunt thought that your father was doing okay, that he was better with his drinking habit and mentally stable. Well, he uh- he attacked you again. You're lucky your boyfriend was there to defend you. He's doing fine by the way. But if it weren't for him you would be dead." She said quietly. "Your father is in restraints, upstairs in Psych. We've diagnosed him with Multiple Personality Disorder. When he is treated, he will be sent directly to prison where he will go through multiple hearings but it's most likely he'll be away for a long time." She told me.
"Tyde?" I asked, getting a whole word out was enough to make me out of breath.
"He sustained some injuries to his arms and stomach. It's not as severe as yours. He is fine. Actually, he could probably come visit you if you'd like." The doctor said, pulling my gown back down. "You can turn around now, boys."
I smiled and nodded.
"I'll get him for you."
