Anyways, back to the oneshot ♥

"I hate storms." Jughead mumbled, as he lay his head against Archie's shoulder. The two boys were sitting down on Archie's bed listening to rain outside, which was getting heavier now, hitting against the window like thousands of tiny sledgehammers. This particular storm had been going on all day, and was showing no sign of stopping any time soon.

"You hate everything." Archie replied, smiling when Jughead gave him a frustrated look.

"That's not true!"

"Name one thing that you don't hate, Jug."

"I don't hate you." Jughead pointed out, looking up at Archie with those puppy dog eyes that he loved so much.

"Oh really?" Archie smiled again, pulling Jughead closer to him.

"Really..." Jughead said, tilting his head upwards to connect their lips together into a kiss.

Before Archie could reply with some sort of witty/romantic comment, a flash of lighting erupted outside and within a few seconds the boys were in absolute darkness. They concluded that it was definitely a power cut, and the world wasn't suddenly coming to an end. Jughead wasn't too bothered about it, he had spent so much time wondering around Riverdale at night that he had developed quite good night vision. Archie on the other hand was finding this to be an utter nightmare. It didn't feel normal for him not to see, it was as if he was in a game and he had a major disadvantage. In a way it made him feel weak.

"Jug?" He called out, turning his head to see if he could find any sign of his much more calm boyfriend. "Jug, where are you?!"

"I'm here, Archie." Jughead replied, immediately sensing Archie's stress. "It's alright, it's just a power cut. The lights should turn on again in a minute or two."

"That doesn't justify the fact that I can't see anything right now!" Archie yelled in frustration. Jughead had to admit that he found it kind of amusing to see Archie getting so stressed out about something as simple as a brief loss of power. He was usually so calm and collected, always there when anyone needed him, never afraid of anything. He had never truly seen this side of him before. Archie suddenly noticed that Jughead wasn't freaking out like he was. "Hey, why are you so chilled out about this?" He asked, looking in the opposite direction to where Jughead was actually standing.

"Wrong direction, Andrews." Jughead chuckled as Archie frantically spun around to (sort of) face him. "I'm used to the darkness, so I can pretty much see where everything is. I do have to strain my eyes a little, but it's not that bad."

"Not that bad?!" Archie said, still not looking in the right direction. "You're in paradise right now, compared to my situation. It's not fair, why don't I have night vision like you?"

"Archie, I don't have night vision!" Jughead said, taking hold of Archie's trembling hand. "And you will be able to see like me, you just have to calm down... Listen to me. Listen to the sound of my voice and where it's coming from." Archie did as Jughead told him, listening to the sound of his boyfriend's voice and turning towards the where it was coming from. This time turning to look Jughead directly in the eye, even though he still couldn't see him. "Good... Now Arch, just wait. Let your eyes get used to it."

And Archie did just that, allowing his eyes to adjust until Jughead's bright green eyes faded into view. "Jug..."

"Yeah?"

"It worked!"

"Yeah!"

"I can see... Kind of!"

"Yeah!"

"You're alive!"

"Yeah... Why wouldn't I be, I was talking to you the entire-"

"You didn't get possessed!"

"No...? Why would I get posse-"

"I saved you from the demons!"

"Yeah... Sure Archie."

"So what now?"

"Now, we need to get some light up in here. Do you have any candles?"

"Yeah, downstairs."

"Alright, we'll need a torch. Can you find your phone?"

"Yep, it's in my pocket." Archie said calmly taking his phone in his hands and turning on the torch, immediately adding more light to the darkened room.

"Wait, your phone was in your pocket the entire time?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"And you never thought about taking it out and using the torch to help yourself see?"

"Oh... That would've been a better idea, wouldn't it..." Archie said, wincing in embarrassment as he realised the obvious solution for his previous problem.

"You're an idiot, Archie..." Jughead smirked. "But, I'm letting you off the hook because I love you. Now come on, let's go and get the candles."

Archie nodded and smiled, taking Jughead's hand in his and leading him down the stairs since he was the one with the only light source. Once they reached the bottom, they made their way to the living room and searched through the the draws, soon returning to Archie's room with an armful of candles and a box of matches. Jughead set them all up around the space, while Archie followed close behind him lighting all the ones he had placed. It took them a few minutes to light every single one due to the quantity, but finally they had completed their mission. They both flopped down on the bed, pleased with their efforts.

"I like this..." Archie said, gesturing to the candles scattered around the room. "It's calming..."

"Yeah... It's nice..." Jughead smiled, happy to see that Archie had grown to like power cuts almost as much as he did. He rolled over so that he was closer to Archie's side, almost resuming their position from before.

Archie smiled, wrapping his arms around the red-haired boy. But before this could go anywhere else the power was restored and all the lights turned back on, ruining the moment completely. So, without even thinking twice, Jughead wriggled free from Archie and walked over to the light switch and turning it off, allowing the candles to be the only light they had once again. He then returned to Archie's side, and huddled up against him.

"I prefer it this way..." He whispered, closing his eyes.

"Me too..." Archie smiled, running his fingers through Jughead's soft hair.

This was perfect.
